From one thing I saw it sounded like he underused he RBs (and they have at least 2 if not 3 down there) and threw the ball a lot with his 2nd year QB.  Cleveland can have him.

Newton sucks. He got a lot out of Derek Anderson a total stiff when he was OC in Cleveland.

Sneaky-good hire, IMO.

He wasn't a hot name, but he has interesting experience and he's bringing Norv in, who is a great offensive coordinator.  Go look up his resume and compare it to Mike McCoy's.  I'd take Chud (assuming both impressed in the interview).

Well, I guess the Brownies are at least trying to address the offensive end of things.

On the other hand, they tried that with Shurmur too.

Without a good quarterback, they can bring in all the offensive brain power they want, it's still going to be a case of same old Browns.

Mike Holmgren was there and couldn't even fix the Browns. Poor franchise is cursed. They had Bill Belichick, a team many felt were a contender and then their owner moved them to Baltimore. The expansion team hasn't done a damn thing. They have been back since 1999 and have had two winning seasons, only one with double digit wins, one one trip to the playoffs. Zero playoff wins since 1994. The last time the Browns made the playoffs in 2002, TIM COUCH took them there. Butch Davis was the HC.

Shurmur is a joke.  You could make a fair argument that Andy Reid's coaching tree (his offensive disciples) have set NFL offense back a couple years.

The last 2 years just happens to be Cam Newton starting. Netwon is a major talent at QB. Chud wouldnt be a good OC if his players didnt execute the plays he calls. If they dont make the plays and drop balls, etc... the offense wont scorre any points. It wont be b/c Chud isnt calling a good game or dont have a good mind.

Coaches may know this and that, most of them are close to each other mind wise IMO. Difference is the players making plays that are called

It goes both ways...coaching and talent.  Every single head coaching candidate out there is being looked at because they've been successful and every successful coach has some good players.

This isn't his only stop, by the way.  He's had success in a few different cities, in a few different positions, at a couple different levels.

He didnt have enough time IMO. He was there only what 3yrs or something? They are in alot better shape the day he was fired compared to the day he was hired. He has that roster on the come up. The defense was very good last year.. okay not very good but well above average. That offense held that team back IMO. They still ended the season with what 6 or 7 wins? They were in alot of games that they lost b/c they were a young team that hasnt learned how to win yet IMO. They should have beaten the Eagles in week #1 and there was atleast 1-2 other games that they should have won but the offese let a strong defensive effort goto waste
