Dave are you kidding me!!!!!

The Eagles interviewed Brian Billick!!!!!!

http://espn.go.com/n...ing-job-sources

I have be criticized for saying that the Eagles should interview Jon Gruden and people have told me
that Gruden has been out of football too long to make an impact.

What is going on over there????

Lurie should've used that time to go golfing. Talk about a waste of time.

Face it guys.... Lurie and the other 2 nerds are scared to death of Gruden because they know he will see right through Howie and run roughshod over him.

Unfortunately, Howie has become a major player in this Coach search.... Qualified in demand candidates need to figure out if they want to work with him as their de facto boss.... even if Lurie says the Coach will report into him.

If a Coach is willing and able to work under that circumstance then he will be hired. If not either the Coach will turn down the team or vice versa.

"We understood that going into the process, but we wanted to leave no stone unturned while trying to find the best head coach for the Philadelphia Eagles. We have no regrets about the effort we made in that direction and we will continue to proceed as planned in our search."

Continue with their planned search ? Why didn't they talk to Billick weeks ago..sheesh, months ago. ?  No stone unturned is their way of saying they have no clue or direction.

Apparently Gruden was approached by 4 teams and coveted the Carolina job before Rivera was retained. Maybe he doesn't want to come here?

I have trouble believing that 4 teams approached him.  Where did you find that information ?

What is Lurie and Roseman thinking??? If the r*tarded Brian Billick becomes our next coach, I will stop supporting the Eagles until he is fired. Listening to Billick on Fox is absolutley painful and a complete retread of a coach. NO A THOUSAND TIMES NO TO THAT STUPID DUMB F, Billick!

If they hire Billick, they need to change our team color from Midnight Green to Vomit Green.

Eagles very impressed with 8 hour interview with Brian Billick this week. he is very much a candidate there in their meandering search

Talking to Billick for 8 hours had to be a disturbing experience.  I think Lurie and Roseman are probably suffering from PTSD and they have actually convinced themselves it was a positive experience to avoid years of therapy.

That was my thought as well.   Listening to Billick do a three hour football game is excruciating enough, but eight unfiltered hours, without even the benefit of commercial breaks?!?!

Man, I hope the Bradley interview went really well.

I was rooting for Seattle, but them losing might be the best thing from an Eagles standpoint.

Really people, I don't want Billick either, but I don't understand how the collective fanbase can give Jon Gruden undying love and blast the Eagles for not being interested in him and then spit all over the thought of interviewing Billick. Compare their track records. Both parlayed stints as OC into HC jobs. Both won a Super Bowl. Both of their teams declined after that. Both have been out of coaching for around 5 years. People just want to assume that all the positive in Baltimore was Ozzie Newsome's doing and blame Gruden's failures on the GM and Tampa ownership. I'm not going to argue that those arguments might have some degree of merit, but I also think it's because Gruden coached here once and gets endless hype while Billick doesn't have as media friendly of a personality.

Gruden came from an OC background and his offenses in Oakland and Tampa were pretty good. Billick came from an OC background and his offenses in Baltimore were dreadful.

Since ESPN only goes back to 2002

PPG:(Billick - Gruden)

2002: 19.8 to 21/6
2003: 24.4 to 19.4
2004: 19.9 to 18.8
2005: 16.9 to 18.8
2006: 22.1 to 13.2
2007: 17.2 to 20.9

Just goes to show that both were pretty much in the middle of the pack, and neither was a clear front runner over the other.

I will be sick if Billick becomes HC.  That being said, Billick was hired in Baltimore after his Offense in Minnesota broke records.  Yes they had Moss who couldn't be covered.
In Baltimore they didn't have a lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball.

The guy led a record-breaking offense, then went on to coach another team to a Super Bowl. I'm not sure why there is such visceral hatred for the man.

The worst thing that can happen is that a new Head Coach comes in and the team continues to not win super bowls for his entire tenure.....while the reasons for failure may be the same or different to the last regime, the results will be the same under that scenario.

At this point I'll just wait and see. After all, what else is there....Lurie will do whatever he thinks is best....and to date, he's never been right.....the empty SB trophy case proves that.

I will simply not give him any of my money until the Lombardi trophy rests in the Nova Care Complex.

They supposedly had beef when Gruden was here as Rhodes OC. Specifcully, I don't recall exactly what the issue was, however, I can't see it being so bad that neither would consider speaking with the other.
