Really?  You couldn't think of a WR to compare him to but another white WR?  Come on Dave.

Did Dave actually ask that question ?
He might as well have asked in Celek could be as good as Tony Gonzalez.  Stupid.
And if Cooper somehow had that type of upside and he has been the 4th we here with limited production, it would be a total indictment of the coaches.

If we get a legitimate coach in here who makes solid coaching hires, we'll see a bunch of guys on the roster elevate their play.    Bank on it.

Cooper as good as Decker?      Probably not, but I'd settle for nearly as good.

Eric Decker - 6'3"... 217 lbs... 4.45 to 4.54 40
Riley Cooper - 6'3"... 222 lbs... 4.5 40

I think i found the reason for the comparison.  Everyone needs to stop being so damn sensitive.

Nate Allen has similar measurables to Ed Reed.

I'm quite certain that 3 years ago someone asked the question, "Could 2nd round pick Nate Allen be as good as Ed Reed?!?!?!"

Terrell Owens - 6'3"...226lbs 4.45 40
Andre Johnson - 6'3" 220 4.41 40
Brandon Marshall - 6'4" 229 4.51 40
Dwayne Bowe - 6'2" 221 4.51 40
Larry Fitzgerald - 6'3" 225lbs 4.63 40

And so on and so on...

Using Decker was lazy.  It's just like comparing Chad Hall to Welker.

I was watching the Denver game, hence the comparison. Am I really that off base to think that the two players are that different based on watching Decker on Saturday and on watching Cooper all season?

I actually thought about Cooper during that game too, truly, and my thought was Riley will never go after the ball like that. Decker just seems to have that instinct to go to the ball as opposed to allowing it come to him. Don't think Riley has that, although I will admit he had a good year, much better than I expected.

I'd say yes..... comparison is completely off base and a huge reach

Decker: 85 catches----- 1064 Yards---- 13 TD's
Cooper: 23 catches-----  248 yards ----  3 TD's

Cooper doesn't even compare favorably to a 36 year old Brandon Stokley

It's simple, Decker had Peyton.  Riley had Vick.  Riley will improve once Vick is gone.

I'll pass final judgment on anyone here after they've had the opportunity to play in a sane scheme on both sides of the ball.    Decker had the benefit of that plus Peyton Manning, while Cooper had to deal with Reid and Vick.    To call that an unfair comparison is putting it rather mildly.
