Mike Freeman of CBS Sportsline is saying that he heard that Kelly is getting more say on personnel. So either Lurie told Howie he'd have to cede some authority, or more likely, if these stories are true that Howie is the one who stayed in touch, it could have been him that agreed to cede power on his own.

I know TATERVILLE will soon forget this, but try and remember what a garbage reporter he is next time he tries to diss our Organization.....

From what I've been reading according to people close to Kelly he didn't want Howie's power.  He's obsessive but it doesn't extend to picking players because he knows he doesn't have NFL experience.  He'll be in total control of his coaching staff, the practices he runs, and even the kind of pads his players wear or something like that but he wasn't demanding GM type powers.

The hiring of Kelly in no way invalidates what LaConfora wrote. I think the guy's report is very suspect and I tend to believe he has a personal grudge, but this hiring does not prove or disprove anything.

Not definitively  however, if a reporter wants to make it long-term in this business, he may want to become more credible in his journalism.

You know I don't like Roseman but I think it suggests that the hiring process wasn't ultimately hindered by Roseman. Though we don't know if BOB was told bad sutff by Bellichik. It in no way proves that people around the league don't dislike Roseman which is what I think he took as a basis and made a faulty conclusion.

Maybe Chip was initially put off by things he heard about Roseman and Roseman himself initially, maybe Roseman made concessions and seduced him over time. Maybe none of it was a factor at all. I'm just glad the guy's here, hope he stays, and if Howie made it happen, well good for him. Btw, Mosher made a reference on the radio today about Banner sticking it to Howie behind the scenes, don't know if he's relying on Bowen or if he has his own info.

Banner, Mosher, McLane, Eskin, LaCanfora, Rueben, et. al.  I could give a rats behind about what Joe Smoe jounralist, or sports talk radio announcer says about anyone in the Eagles organization.  The bottom line is win/losses and superbowls.  If Howie can bring the right guys in, and Jeff pays them, GREAT!!! As long as were winning, and doing it consistently, FANFREAKINTASTIC!!!!  All the other hob-snob crap is a bunch of wasted space on a hard drive somewhere.

I read somehwere on here or another fan baord that it was Licht, Banner and Heckert. None of them got along with Roseman.

LaCanfora has flashbacks covering Danny and Vinny Cerrato ten years ago.   He just **ASSUMED** Howie Roseman was another Vinny Cerrato.  Of course LaCanfora can say that Kelly is another Steve Spurrier, if only to feed his family; then act like he had amnesia reporting that Roseman was rejected by Kelly.   We call this person, a weasel sports reporter.  Philly talking heads on sportsradio can spot a "hack job" by ten miles.  Glen Macnow, and Daily News Live were not fooled 1/14.  Here's a hack-job response, LaCanfora hates Jews.  I'm just a poster on a msg. board.  I don't produce my drivel to the entire NFL nation.
