Here's the thing about Gruden. I don't think Gruden feels like he has to put his name out there.I think he feels as though if teams are interested in him they should go to him and just offer him the job and let him give them the answer. I don't think he wants to go through an interview process anywhere.

If you interview him, you have to hire him, IMO. The pressure from the media, fans, etc. would be so great that anything else would feel like a letdown and the second guessing would start immediately. They don't want to hire him (for whatever reason...probably organizational control) and I think they don't want to open the can of worms.
That's my opinion.

its really a different situation though and I'm not defending the bears but they didn't decide to fire lovie until they missed the playoffs which didn't occur officially until the very last game of the season. They are in a loaded division and honestly i think firing lovie was dumb to begin with. His fate fell with the inability to keep cutler upright and the inability to beat the packers these last 3 years. I don't think their new coach will have a ton of success at that either. We on the other hand have been debating a new coach since the end of last year and knew for two full months that reid was not coming back (accoring to lurie). I think he really thought chip kelly was the guy but it didn't happen and now he really doesn't know which way is up.

I still believe Gruden just wants the offer and doesn't wanna go through the interview. How many interviews has Gruden really been on since being fired by Tampa? I'm sure the Eagles view him as an option but how far down the list does it go?

Agreed. He's not exactly somebody that can say I'll take a HC job or nothing at all.

Yup. From a pure numbers game I really don't think he'll land a HC job unless he really hits an interview out of the park. Next best option from his POV would be to follow a defensive guy like Gus or Lovie where he can get some control over the offense. Most of this board needs to take a big ol' Xanax and calm the F down.
