49ers (4 All Pro LBers)

6 posts in this topic

I definitely see the 49ers have a nice D. But three 1st team all pro LBers and one 2nd team All Pro LBer. Obvious Willis and Aldon Smith are very good but do they really have the 1st, the 2nd, the 3rd best LBers in the NFL with a 4th one being somewhere between the 5 and 8th best.

Are they really that incredibly dominant? Every single one of them?

they just have a damn good defense in general. as an eagles fan, im extremely jealous. when the ef was the last time the eagles had a "great" linebacker? im not talking about trotter his first few years either because even he wasnt in that great status. bill romonowski even though he was only here for a year? i guess we have to go back to buddys linebackers of joyner/evans/thomas. thats a looonnnnggg time ago.

You know what's even scarier?.....

Bowman is 24, Aldon Smith is 23, Willis is 27

They could have a dynasty defense

They could have a dynasty but in this day and age of players wanting the big bucks as soon as possible, I could see two of them becoming UFA in a couple of years.

Yep, The Salary Cap will prevent them keeping all four the majority of their career. Imo, the last true dynasty was the Cowboys in the early 90's. The Steelers

of the 70's had nine Hall of Famers playing the majority of their careers on the same team. Unless the NFL changes the rules, there is no way we'll ever see

another team like that again.
