What actual football minds are involved in HC search?

They got Lurie, Roseman, Smolenski doing interviews...I'm sure they're not stupid enough to leave a football decision completely in the hands of 3 financial guys.
So do they have any one they've tapped for input with an actual football background and who are they if anyone knows?

How many different ways can people call these guys Jews without actually saying it?

But I'm wondering if anyone knows who they have giving them advice on the Xs and Os side of things. I'm sure they do, just a question of who...

Lurie hired Andy and that worked out pretty well.

Having a football background doesn't mean you are a good football guy and vice versa. You don't need to play the game to understand the game.

True. I only wanted Lurie to consider bringing in someone who has a proven track record in talent evaluation since this was the opportune time (blowing up the entire staff).
But the bright side is, now that Lurie has all but announced Howie will be responsible for talent evaluation, if that area remains a sore spot, hopefully he'll be held accountable for it.

Smoleski - Lived and breathed NFL-level football for 15 years, has done nothing but football for that time
Roseman - Totally immersed in professional football for over a decade, including scouting and, recently, drafting, credited with arguably the best draft of the last ten years
"Football guy" - played 4 years of high school ball and two years of second string Community College ball. Obviously the best choice to hire an NFL HC.

Are the other 31 teams really organized all that differently? Do you know how many other teams carry your definition of "football mind" when interviewing a new head coach? Which teams are you using as the model. Please explain.

What I mean by "football mind" is someone with some decent experience from a standpoint of coaching and a good understanding of the game. To me I think they would be foolish, regardless how long theyve been around football, to not have someone they can at least call and say "We interviewed so and so guy, what do you think of him for our team and personnel?" I mean guys like Dungy, Vermeil, who have a good relationship with the birds etc...have guys like that been in touch with them?
Oh who give a sh()t at this point, i dont even care anymore about the original question...get Gus in here so this thing can be over already

Does the "football mind" work differently? Does it have laces on cerebrum? Or is a mind that has been concussed after a years of football to the point where they drool uncontrollably and forget where they live? I need to know...
