I sense a crisis. Eagles FO is circling the wagons--and figuring out how to spin the 2nd interview with Gus.

Woody...Gus really doesn't have many other interviews just the Jags.... SD is out of the race they hired Mccoy. Bears have shown no interest in him.

The thing the Jags have going for them that Phill does not is an exp. GM and it might not matter so much but Gus might feel more comfortable with an exp. GM since he woudl be a rookie HC

Gus probably didn't like Howie's jokes and caught a Greyhound to Jacksonville.

I hope we do get new uniforms cunningham, bring back that great kelley green in a new look. Im not really into that midnight green.

Realistically, any interview that happened in Atlanta was short & sweet. About enough time to ask for a real "date". This meeting in Philly is really a FIRST DATE as Atlanta was just an introduction and expression of mutual interest. Gus would be foolish to jump at any first offer. If he was asked by Lurie to becomes the HC...Gus is wise to leave town, have another interview--get some personal perspective--and reflect on whatever Lurie told him. Gus has never been an NFL HC before, so, he should take his time in thinking things over...it may frustrate us...but I believe it evidences good judgment on his part.

ESPN's Dan Graziano says it best...

Bradley is scheduled to land in Philadelphia around 2:30 p.m. this afternoon. He will sit down with owner Jeffrey Lurie, general manager Howie Roseman and team president Don Smolenski. Bradley also interviewed with the Chargers on Thursday, but San Diego came to terms with Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy today.

While the team has one less suitor to compete with if they indeed have set their sights solely on Bradley -- and the scuttlebutt around the NFL is that they have -- he does have another interview scheduled with the Jaguars on Wednesday.

It does get hard to know, in these situation, what's real and what's posturing. If the Eagles want Bradley and Bradley wants them, each side remains interested in getting the best possible deal. So it remains in the Eagles' best interest for reports to reflect that a deal is not imminent even if it is (since it would get the public excited that a resolution is at hand and improve Bradley's leverage in negotiations), and it remains in Bradley's best interest for reports to reflect that he's going to Jacksonville tomorrow (since it would improve the Eagles' bargaining position if they were his only suitor).

Too much smoke here for there not to be any fire, so I still think Bradley is the most likely candidate to become the Eagles' next head coach. But the next eight or nine hours are likely to tell us a lot one way or the other. Stay tuned.

Jacksonville got a new owner in Jan 2012 : Shahid Khan. Eagles lost long time President Joe Banner. Jags got a new front office & coaching staff. Eagles got front office and locker room indigestion.

Khan is a 1st time NFL owner. Lurie is without right hand man Banner...
