Before signing Kelly i wanted no part of Geno Smith but now i'm beginning to rethink it. What do you guys think of trading back up into the latter half of the 1st round and taking Smith if he starts to fall.  We could get an impact player at #4 and also get our QB of the future to run Kellys offense

dawk I am a fan of EJ Manuel. I just think he is better than Geno. EJ is projected as a second rounder on some sites. After his great bowl game and when he sizes up with everyone at the combine he should be making a move however. I could see either working well in Philly.

Say Eagles sit this year out for selecting a QB.. Lets see how our current QBs do this year n wait til next year for a QB.. Too many other needs for this team right now to be using a high pick on a QB

true i wouldn't be upset with EJ Manuel either. we could probably get 2 guys before we would have to draft him anyway

How is chip kelley gonna know what to look for in the draft when he hasnt even coached the team yet? I got a bad feeling we will take geno. Not saying he is bad but i feel our first player should be and has to be a defensive player. Millimer, Star preferably. I would not be at all against trading back in the draft but not to get a QB. I want to see chip kelley run his offense through nick foles, who knows how to read defenses. Cut vick and draft qb in later rds. I didnt want chip but i'm hoping it works out. I like that he likes to run the ball, but i dont want our QB, whoever it is getting hurt. He better fire pass happy marty too!!!

Snake -  i think youre misunderstanding Chip.. People are too focused on how Oregon plays n not focused on Chip as the coach n his philosophy.. His fast tempo scheme n maximizing the amount of plays when the ball is in our possession i think is what its about

I just dont want to see our season end bc our qb gets injured bc he was running the ball. Like RG3

This new coach of ours really likes fast quarterbacks, right?  Michael Vick is a fast quarterback, right?  This can only mean one thing:  YES!!!!1!

Michael Vick gets to stay an Eagle.  Super Bowl, here we come.

@r. shackleford: wow, how dumb is that? Vick spends more time in the hospital than the huddle. He'll be 34 by training camp. $16 MILLION? Can't read a defense, either.

This hire was Roseman, AKA, The Lawyer. He keeps personnel control. Kelly says: "Yeah, give me the Little Sisters of the Poor, I can win." Payday for Roseman, who's made Lurie richer. Payday for Kelly, who escapes NCAA recruiting sanctions.  "Fans? We don't need no stinkin' fans!"

Get ready for more drama (and less achievement) than The Kardashians. They're trashing a storied franchise. Book it.

After watching our pathetic Defense get to Big Ben occasionally only to see them bounce off in the Pittsburg game, and after YEARS of watching Vick bounce ball after ball into a defensive lineman's head (only to watch it bounce into the waiting arms of a defender for ANOTHER interception, (while claiming it's not HIS fault, he can't control where the ball bounces), I am not a fan of a tiny QB (Running, mobile or NOT!)

Cunningham...NO won a SB when there D was leading the league in getting turnovers, GB D was playing great when they one there SB, and NE hasn't won a SB since early 2000s when they have a top notch D.  I stick by what I said I don't want teams like theres.... I'd rather have a team with a good O and great D.

Jags have a great hire for HC in Gus Bradley

R U kiddin me. That genius Howie isn't letting Chip do any drafting. Don't you remember? Howie is an expert talent evaluator. According to him, he sees the player he wants, "then strikes". That's why we were so good the last two years.

whole new ball game with a college coach coming to the NFL.  I'm hopeful and doubtful at the same time.

Just like a college player making the jump, it's going to take Chip(and coaches) time to get use to the NFL.  The road ahead is bumpy -- to say the least.

ps ... told you Spuds would pee himself over the signing.  Can someone get him a towel.

The Eagles Front Office met with Kelly on Jan.5th.  I started my novena the next day.  Nine days later, Voila'!!!
Chip Kelly is the 21st HC of my favorite team.  Who says miracles don't exist.  Bona Fortuna!!!!!

"Then again, Kelly can adapt. He%u2019s an innovator, and those kinds of football minds use what they have and make it great."

And Spuds -- you know this based on what NFL experience?  can we let this guy step onto a nfl field before you annoint him the greatest nfl coach thats ever lived?

I don't even know how Chip can evaluate his own team to determine who they want in the draft.

BG, 2 things.  One, I would sure take a team like NO, NE & GB... because our team stinks at the moment... beggers can't be choosers and for a team without a ring since 1960 (52 years, longer than my lifetime) the METHOD of how they get it is pretty irrelevent!  Second, give me the reasons that GB lost to the Giants last year and why the Pats lost to them in two SBs?  Last I checked the Pats didn't lose those games 35-34!!  Their defense was good, Brady and co didn't get the job done!  And Rogers and the GB offense struggled with their timing, esp Jennings who was coming back from injury!

When your other three opponents have 12 SBs ...and you have witnessed ALL of them in your lifetime... and your team has ZERO!!  If someone from the outside came in the middle of a discussion to see that you were worried about "Style of play" that would laugh... really HARD!

The key moving forward is going to be who he assembles for a coaching staff.  Other key component is current roster talent evaluations.  There are some immediate concerns on both sides of the ball.  Hopefully C. Kelly can turn this team back into a winner.  Going to take some time and patience.  Doubt we will see a one year turn around.... but excited about where this team can be a year from now.  Curious to see what our HC is going to do with our 4th overall pick.

Sean Payton and Jn Gruden like the visor... maybe the hole in the middle lets the offensive guys think better?

I don't care about his college records .. last I checked, they mean nothing in the NFL history books...
