Ian Rapoport@RapSheet
Names to watch for #Eagles DC: UGA's Todd Grantham, UF's Dan Quinn. Both schooled in stopping spread offenses, both with NFL experience

Matt Lombardo@MattLombardo975
DC will now be Kelly and the #Eagles most important hire. Name I am hearing that's bantied around most inside Novacare is Todd Grantham UGA

Pete Roussel@coachingsearch
Don't be surprised if Mark Whipple ends up on Chip Kelly's staff in Philadelphia.

Whipple was an offensive assistant with the Eagles in 2007-2008. He's been the Browns' QBs coach the past 2 years. He was New Hampshire's OC from 1986-87. Around that time, Kelly was a defensive back at New Hampshire.

UGA plays pretty ferocious defense wouldn't be disappointed seeing either Grantham or Quinn here, I'm a huge Gators fan and we all know how good Quinns defense was all season up until that Louisville game

Grantham is a 3-4 guy but it's more of a one-gap attacking style that doesn't require the big 350 pound NT.

Seems like the perfect hire if they're moving to a 3-4.  NFL DC experience, has worked in the NFC East, and has shown the ability to stop spread offenses in college.

2011: 20.6 PPG (23rd)
2010: 22.1 PPG (36th)

Now Watch The Drop:
---------------

Grantham was an offensive lineman in college.   I was an offensive lineman in HS.

I know BFD.  But my point is, offensive linemen _know_ defense.

When you get your head rocked by an effin inebacker, your knowledge of football increases exponentially. Ask any O lineman.

I like Grantham as a DC.  He knows football.
