ya know i didnt want reid gone at first until his contract was officially over, i felt he deserved his last stand. at first i was a bit bitter that he was fired, and i also wasnt sold on chip kelly weeks ago when all the hype was in full swing about him coming here.

after reading all i can about chip for the last 24 hours and watching this press conference i must say, im sold.

this guy seems amazing, hes everything that andy isnt and im starting to realize thats a good thing. he is forthcoming about alot and very informative. he doesnt shy away from questions or brush off the hard questions with arrogant one or two word answers. for the first time in a while i dont feel like the EAGLES FO is conducting some secretive operation that us fans and media dont deserve to know about.

his attitude is great, his football IQ is thru the roof and i really think hes gonna be a great coach here. im really impressed with his demeanor and for the first time in a long time i am excited about eagles football.

this isnt easy for me to say but i was wrong about the firing of andy, it NEEDED to be done and im on the chip ship 100%

times yours.

That statement should have died the moment Reid's tenure here ended.  :nonono:

As an Oregon fan, I think you're right to be excited, but just so you're aware...Chip has two media personas. He has national media, press conference Chip, who generally gives full detailed answers and is quite funny. Then he has local media, same questions every day Chip, who has been known to bring those one and two word answers you talked about, though he's still funny.

Basically, he doesn't suffer fools very well, particularly if they are the same fools day after day. The reporters who got the best stuff from Chip at Oregon, were the ones who understood this, avoided asking him questions they all knew the answer to and came up with more interesting ways to get at a topic. Because even short, abrupt local media Chip would often stop and give a great answer to an interesting question.

What would be in its place?

"I'm really saying my post is done, but I need to do a better job of not posting mannerisms of former Eagles coach Andy Reid"

I appreciate what Andy did for the Eagles, but it was certainly time for him to go. He lost that locker room.

I wasnt a chip guy but kept an open mind. Loved the press confrence today. Such a well-spoken individual. Just hope he sticks around for more then a yr or two and is truly committed to rebuild this train wreck Andy created. Im excited again tho.
