First he wants to switch to a 3-4 defense. Our D is built to run a 4-3. D. Ryans and others excel at a 4-3 D. Now possibility of drafting Geno Smith, keeping Vick, and getting rid of Foles. Why heck would you trade Foles after one year? He showed promise. He played as good, if not, better than Vick with inferior talent(4/5 of OL missing, D. Jackson, L. McCoy, and Celek out). Foles is no B. Weeden nor K. Kolb. Give Foles a chance. Had Patriots traded/get rid of Tom Brady, Patriots may not have won 3 Super Bowls. G. Smith is nothing like A. Luck or RG III. What next? Trade DJ? Eagles might have made a mistake hiring Chip Kelly.

Whoa, whoa big dog, that is all speculation. Let's give the man a chance and wait till he makes a couple of moves. Also, if we get rid of Vick and some other trash, we will be 63 million under the cap. Many things could change quickly.

Ruin this team?  You do realize the Eagles came in last place in our division and were only a handful of points away from going 0-16. I'd say the only way to go is up or lateral.

Ruin implies that the team isn't a mess to begin with.   I expect more of the same.

First of all, what press conference were you listening to?? He said nothing about drafting Geno Smith, nothing about keeping Vick or getting rid of Foles. He talked about making the system fit the players you have.

The team is ruined. The defense is terrible so it's the perfect time to switch to a 3-4. Now sure IF he trades Foles and he turns out to be a franchise QB and Kelly is gone in 2 years then you would be right but that's an unlikely scenario on many levels

His practices are legendary and non-performers will be weeded out fast as the man will not fool around and have misplaced loyalties like Reid had. The uptempo pace will be torrid to handle but I suspect that if he is like a Jimmy Johnson type of coach we will be OK. Players beware now.

I get it, this is a joke. There is nothing out there of us getting rid of foles, drafting geno, or keeping vick

OMG I just don't understand some fans. Chip looks very promising, he said plenty of times that he will adapt to what he has. So what makes you think he is going to be stubborn trying to make something work?... And most of all, we haven't even seen anything of his work with this team and you already think he will ruin this franchise.

I feel we have very good days ahead with Kelly as the Head Coach of the Eagles, he is talented and looks like a great human being.

When did he ever mention switching to a 3-4? He said he would evaluate the personnel and decide where to go from there. He never mentioned anything about drafting Smith, keeping Vick, or saying bye-bye to Foles. And you say that Foles is no Brandon Weeden and to give Foles a chance, yet they're both rookies so you should be saying the same thing to the Browns about Weeden.

I guess you and me were listening to the presser and guys like the OP were just jumping to conclusions. I heard him say great things about Foles and Vick and said he needs time to evaluate everyone. Sounds right now like he's open to anything.

thank you. this is exactly what I heard. He said he'd do whatever defensive system is going to work based on the players we have.

One thing he said that was truly amazing. Something along the lines of "as coaches we don't go out there and play. We can't force players to do things they can't do. We have to develop the system around what they can do."

We are coming off a 4-12 season,  no playoff wins since 2008,  we are already ruined.  The worst he can do is keep us ruined.

As for Foles,  he's no sacred cow.   If he gets rid of Foles,  maybe he aint' as good as you think.

i think fans need to understand that alot of bad teams are using the schemes that are predicatiable like reid's and probably some other bad teams, it doesnt win games, the eagles are going to a direction like what the patriots are using, short passing and running attacks with the rbs because they have speed which alot of teams dont have. i believe this team will be good if not then howie is a goner but i have hope now.

Cant we all just be happy about change for a minute.......

I thought it was great to wake up and hear a new perspective for the first time in 14 years.

I don't need to take a shot at Andy and I don't need to judge Chip before he gets a shot to do some work. It was just nice to hear a different perspective.

Honestly to the OP I just have to ask you one question. Did you listen to anything the man said today? I never heard him say he wanted to change anything to anything. In fact I heard him say he wants to explore all options with what is here and add to it. From there he wants to develop schemes and systems that fit the players he has on the team.

We have seen 14 years of trying to take a square peg and not only fit it into a round hole but also turn the square peg round in the process. That's a lot of friction. Chip seems to be a guy that wants to find out first if the pegs are square or round, and than build the hole they will fit in around them.

Its a welcome new perspective in my opinion. I'm excited for change and look forward to the season. I leave all my judgement until I can see what is being put on the field.

Go Chip....

Can we please have the KELLY GREENS BACK NOW......
