Regardless of its offensive performance, this team needs to return to the defensive prowess we had under JJ. We need a smash mouth mentality brought on by an experienced defensive mind who has a proven success record in the NFL.
Of all teams, haven't the Eagles learned over the past three seasons that new, inexperienced defensive coordinators don't work in this league?
Agree/disagree? Who would best fit this mold that is still availible?

Good point, forgot that Grantham was down there now. I would love a guy like Spagnuolo...but obviously he's not on the market. Not sure that Kirby Smart makes a succesful transition to the NFL either.

Still think this is doubtful, but I wouldn't mind.

Two names to watch for the DC position are Dave Wannstedt and D Jauron. Both have been replaced with coordinators of the new HC's choosing so they are available. They both also run a 4-3 scheme and have plenty of NFL experience as DC and HC.
The fact that Kelly has hired/retained coaches from the teams he interviewed with (Browns/Bills/Eagles) is interesting. Maybe that is simply a coincidence since the team did interview Herrmann of the Giants yesterday.

Anyone from the Packers defensive staff scares me, they have been horrible two straight years, and it's not like they have a lack of talent.

He's getting older and he may want to take a break in order to decide if he wants to continue coaching or he could just wanna sit back & collect the money that KC owes him.

That's what I would do since taking a DC job would mean much less money.

Actually they do have lack of talent. They only have one pass rusher and the best DB is like 50 yrs old.

It is very, very rare for coordinators to make lateral moves. Ray Horton was allowed to do it because they changed HC and passed on him for the position. Normally coordinators only move of they are fired or get a HC job.
