Position coaches help about as much as power balance bracelets help.

That would be true for any position, but maybe the OL and DL coaches. I think they are the most important position coaches.

A RB/TE/WR coach to me is like a hitting coach in baseball.

Ted Williams was the one assistant I didn't mind keeping. Little surprised he's moving to TE's though.

Making Duce the TE coach makes more sense. Btw TaTe, notice how many times we had special teams players late getting on the field, or not on the field at all? Whose responsibility was that?

Really it's mostly the players fault. If you're on the punt unit you're supposed to get your butt out there. The ST coach shouldn't have to round up 11 guys on the sideline each time. That said he's supposed to make the players prepared.

Good move keeping Ted Williams. He's a really good coach and out of all the other coaches he deserved a chance to stay on staff.

That's usually what quality control coaches do, when they're not handling their responsibilities for game film or whatever, they help out with a certain position that may be their specialty.

Wow. You and the idiots who clicked like on your post have obviously never played a sport beyond your backyard or madden.
Assistant coaches are key to any team's success.

If you have crap assistants, you have a crap team.

The answer is it was Duce's responsibility. On more than one occasion Bobby April took bullets for Duce screw-ups and I give April props for that. Duce was Reid's boy, ownership obviously loves him as do the fans, I do too, but Duce was not getting it done as the Assistant Special teams coach and there wasn't much Bobby could do about it.

What are you talking about?  Duce started out as a special teams quality control coach.  If he had any sort of responsibility that far down the totem pole then that, in fact, would be Bobby April's fault.

Especially Bryce Brown........Chip's RB's at Oregon weren't exactly big, more speed than anything, and they did a really good job of holding onto the ball.

Pretty obvious what I'm talking about. Duce was charged with the responsibility on game day to make sure the right players were on the field for special teams. How'd that work out?
