Any guesses to who will be the Defensive Coordinator?
Do you think Kelly will grab someone from the college level or is there still someone
out there in the NFL who could fit the bill?
Defensive Coordinator?

well since no one out there knows anything... here is the latest report...
Philadelphia Eagles: Oregon defensive line coach Jerry Azzinaro will join Chip Kelly in the same role per Howard Eskin....who also reports that both Todd Grantham and Kirby Smart have interviewed with Chip Kelly for defensive coordinator.

I think NFL level but I would rather not guess since I hear a lot of things and don't want to give anything away until the appropriate time.

If they are waiting for a guy from either the Ravens or the 49ers then we have wait until after the SB. The DB coach, Donatell, from the 49ers has a nice resume.

Kelly is obviously a smart impressive guy but it seemed like Lurie had his mind made up before he even met him. I wonder to what degree if any the same can be said about Donatell or whomever the new DC will be. It certainly seems like they definitively decided to go with NFL experienced OC and DC. I wonder how that was determined to be the best course to take and what degree Lurie, Howie, and Kelly had input. Shurmur has had mixed results and Donatell is a 55 year old secondary coach for a reason. These guys were hired to help a first time NFL coach along and they have a chance to distinguish themselves.
These guys clearly haven't proven or distinguished themselves to be the best or brightest as far as I can tell. Chip has his work cut our for him !

They may have a wink and handshake agreement with the Eagles hiring coaches from a list he has given him.
