Asante is better than DRC and Nnamdi
he is a team leader believe it or not and they love him down there
he is a winner....eagles have a lot of losers on the squad

Asante got abused pretty good again yesterday. Smart teams attack his side of the field, with runs and short screens to wide receivers. He's just too tiny to stick his head into anything.

Nothing says "winner" quite like getting burned repeatedly, failing to attempt (much less make) tackles, and then talking **** to a former teammate for missing a kick.

Dude is a LOSER.  Good riddance and have fun playing golf this winter, Asante.

Ok, fine.  Asante is a loser.  But, given that Asante is a loser, how would you describe Nnamdi and DRC ?  Bigger losers ?

ROME...every time I see your pic I get hungry...where is that hoagie from ????

Nnamdi & DRC should be placed aboard the next missile headed for the sun.  They both suck, so cut them both ASAP. As for the hoagie it's from White House Sub Shop in A.C.  And I would gladly offer all of your lives for one right this second.   :-)

Lord, try staying on topic and stop manufacturing arguments man.

Didn't hear that POS talking smack after the game, I wonder why? Back to the bench next year.

Does it matter?     Who the hell wants any of them?

The fact that all three were all brought in here speaks volumes about how hideously this thing was mismanaged in the last few years, and the gross negligence of Lurie for allowing it to happen right under his nose.

I don't know how the refs couldn't call a taunting personal foul.  It was pretty obvious.

I thought Asante's Eagle career was a successful one.

Lurie won't get involved with personnel which at the end of the day is a good thing.  I don't agree with your view of gross negligence on Lurie's part.  Banner and Reid grossly miscalculated the teams potential and grossly miscalculated several drafts and free agents thinking they were just a player of two away. The results were catastrophic as the team had no leadership or chemistry.  I can only surmise Howie had the minority opinion.

It amazes me how willing some Eagles fans are to give Lurie a pass for this mess they find themselves in.

If a CEO of a Fortune 500 company ran it into the ground he'd be eviscerated.   Not Lurie, though.

Agreed, one Super Bowl appearance in almost 20 years. The buck stops with him. Most of Eagledom knew he wasted a year of our lives when he decided to bring Reid back last year, we knew it. Rome's been burning :P for years now and he's been fiddling away. But that was then and this is now, ding dong the King is dead and a new age has finally arrived.

I'm all for a hands off owner with regard to personnel decision making, but it is kind of stunning how far Lurie let this thing get before finally pulling the plug.      All the signs were there in 2011, and he used Reid and Vick's contract situations as an excuse (whether he says so or not) for extending this mess another year.

As CEO of a billion dollar franchise it is ultimately his responsibility, and he did some damage to the brand by trying to save what in the big scheme of things was a small amount of money.

I am not giving him a pass.  I am saying that it is a good thing that Lurie doesn't get involved in the personnel matters (unlike Al Davis, Jerry Jones, the old Dan Snyder, Bud Adams, et al).
Lurie believed in his football people that the Eagles were a player or two away and acted accordingly.  He trusted the judgement of Reid, Banner, and whomever else.  It blew up.  This is football and there aren't too many absolutes.  Calling Lurie "grossly negligent" is ridiculous.
Lurie did a pretty good job of explaining how and why things turned out like they did and I thought it was great to hear that type of blunt honesty and insight from an owner.
If Kelly is a failure, Lurie's judgement will be a huge question mark.  I don't blame Lurie for the last 2 years (or the last 5).  Lurie was desperate for a SB and attempted to go all in....He thought he had a pair of Kings but ended up having a 2-7 off-suit.  He busted....now he is buying in again with Chip.

I guess I don't see how it was possible to see a pair of Kings off of the 2011 slop we saw here - the best you could call what he did by hanging on for another year would be trying a reckless bluff.

He was smart enough to know he needed a big splash hire to start to win back the base, and Kelly provided that instantly.       Now comes the hard part, and the way this team was left won't make it any easier.

..
Saying things went down the way they did because Lurie made an executive decision to save money is really a stretch.

The point is that the signs were like f****ng neon that this thing was clearly descending.       The only ones who couldn't see it were true believers and national media maggots.

I might grant you drawing on an inside straight flush, but that's as far as I'd go, odds wise

I suppose, but 2011 and 2012 took a toll on the image of this franchise as he had cultivated it over the last decade, and it will take more than the Kelly hiring to get that back.

I just hope that didn't play any part in Kelly's hiring.  I don't need the new new thing.  I don't need out of the box thinking.  I don't need to be the smartest or most innovative franchise in the NFL.  I don't need to make a splash.
What I need is a talented, well coached, physical football team that can win a SB.  Is that too much to ask ?

You're preaching to the choir, brother. That pretty succinctly states what I've been asking for in those 6000 posts you frequently reference during the last five years.   ^_^

Its pretty obvious at this point the competition with Banner fueled, at least in part, Lurie's interest in Chip. That is troubling. You hear it every time Lurie implies Cleveland wasn't in play.

Yeah, Danny Klecko has rings too. Belichick let Asante walk, he started the year on the bench in Atlanta, and umm...did you watch his last game?

I've been a fan of this team for at least as long as Dave has (seeing as we're both the same age) and I'm here to tell you that if Reid was retained I was DONE.

I was selling my SBL's to the highest bidder, walking away from this team for good, and never looking back.  That's how infuriated I was with the direction this franchise has taken over the last decade.

Look, I'm not all that thrilled that Lurie is still in charge either, but in the last 12 months he's ridded the team of Banner (who is the embodiment of everything I hated about this team) and Reid who outlived his usefulness as a Leader at least 5 years ago if not longer.   He still has Roseman running things, though, and to me that's the biggest question I have.  I'll say this about Roseman, though... he got his man.  Against all odds he pursued Kelly like a bloodhound and was persistent enough to land him.  I don't necessarily agree with his decision to hire Kelly (as I preferred Bradley) but the fact that he was so dogged in his pursuit and was ultimately successful says a lot about him.

I'm giving them all a pass now.  Lurie, Roseman, Kelly... everyone concerned.  Time's running out on my patience, though.  Think of it like the Doomsday Clock... it was at 11:59 and the last month's actions has pushed the clock back to 11:57 or so.  Time's ticking, fellas... time to quit effing around and get us a Lombardi Trophy.
