I'll be honest here, if there's anybody who's a huge candidate to be the next Saban/Petrino and leave the NFL to go back to college it's Kelly.  The guy has never coached in the NFL at all.

as much as it sounds like a spurned lover, It is 100% correct, and probably the smart thing to do...
What happens if he finds the NFL to be too hard for him?
What if a big college HC spot opens?  You don't think he will be thinking about that?
If he wavers 1 ioda on being the eagles HC, then that is all you need to know that he is not the right man for the job.
Oh wait... he alreeady did waver on the job offer.

Can anyone say Nick Saban.

That possibility is the biggest reason I am very cautiously optimistic about Chip.

No way.  I live in Miami and I can tell you that the first time I saw Saban interviewed down here I could see what a snake the guy is.  Petrino was just in over his head.

Kelly has a huge contract and from the way I understand it, the contract is worded so that he will have significant penalties if he decides to bolt.  He's in until they kick him out.

I wonder what percentage of Eagles fans know who Skip Sharp is.

Poor Skip Sharp.  When the Eagles hired Vermeil, the team was depleted of draft picks.  His first year, the earliest pick was a 5th rounder - and the Eagles drafted a guy named Skip Sharp.  He was cut before the season started.

I love how Banner assumes Kelly didn't have a commitment to the NFL just because he didn't have a commitment to the Browns.    What a tedious little douchbag.
