I like the Shurmur move, he is good with QB's and it is good to have another set of eyes and ears when game planning. I know Chip will be calling the plays but the fact that he went out and got an ex-NFL coordinator shows me that Chip is all about this team.
I like the moves I have seen lately, even the little moves with the assistant GM and Chip bringing some guys from Oregon to be play the QC roles.

Wasn't he hired in Ariz? Or he was going there for an interview or something.
Although it would be a good choice, Juan will never give us the light of day again. We screwed him terrible, but at the same time Juan new the risk of switching sides and the downhill effect. But no way Juan comes back here.

I disagree. Heard that Juan is looking for a job coaching the defensive side of the ball, but who knows.

Pat Shurmur could try to push for Kelly to bring back Juan as an offensive line coach. Reid really set him up to fail. Juan was in over his head as a defensive coordinator and it's a move that didn't work and Reid should be blamed for it.

That's what I was thinking since that's what he used at Oregon. But at this point I have to wonder because Kelly brought in Pat Shurmur as his offensive coordinator and the 2 come from very different backgrounds with completely different offensive philosophies. Now, whatever the reason he brought him in, really is a non factor but it could mean that Kelly's gonna go with a different offensive approach than what he used at Oregon. He could be trying to work with Shurmur to help him design an NFL offense that can be sustained and would be suited for these players.

OC and DC are the game day planners. I think it's obvious this is Chip's team to game plan. Think this is basic top down management, know your role, Chip is the HC,

Eh, I could see Kelly wanting to integrate some WCO elements into the scheme, since that's what the players already know. Also, Shumur has a good history with developing QBs, so that was a plus for him.
In contrast, our current O-line roster really fits what Kelly likes and moreso than it does Castillo. Kelce, for example, seems exactly like what Kelly would want, but wouldn't fit Castillo's scheme at all. Don't think Mathis fits Castillo's scheme either, but should work well for Kelly. Peters is good enough to fit any scheme, and Herremans can fit either as well, though possibly at different positions.
