Remind me...did RG3 suffer a concussion, torn LCL, and ultimately suffer his second ACL tear?

Keep living in a fantasyworld.  Those who ignore history are destined to repeat it.

Why you so focus on rg3 .....what about cam newton? 2 years in the league....no injuries...focus on that....you seem to use rg3's injury to justify your mentality

Cam doesnt run as much as wilson, vick, rg3. But the point is, lets see in 5 years if these qbs can stay healthy.

I meant over their career, not one season.  That should have been inherent in my post.  Are you that dimwitted? They all start out exciting and are supposedly going to change the game.  Til they get hurt, slow down with age.  We've seen it in our own team with Cunningham, McNabb and Vick.

Even RGKnee couldn't get out of his first season.

I like what Chip Kelly has said so far.  He wants his QB to be a passing QB first, only with the option and ability to run if needed.  A QB has to be an accurate passer that can read and pick apart defenses.  That is what's proven.  If you can combine that with running ability, that's awesome.  But you also can't take too many hits, need to slide to protect yourself, throw the ball away to avoid getting hit or avoid an interception.  Play smarter, not just rely on athletic ability.  The NFL is to complex and the competition is too tough to get by on that alone.

You only bring up vick, mcnabb and cunningham because these Qbs are black....watch these guys play they are more polished than any of those qbs you mentioned.... stop judging them based on the qbs you have had in the past......yes pocket passers have won in the past but things are changing...there is no manning, brady, rodgers in the superbowl....just an average joe and a dual threat qb named kaepernick....

RG3 got hurt, because he goes at full throttle every play. Wilson and Kapernick especially do not take a whole lot of punishment. Kaepernick was even getting jawed at by Clay Matthews for sliding, and getting out bounds before the Packers could get to him. Though Colin seems to gotten the last laugh at the fabio wannabe...

And Mcnabb, Vick and Cunningham were not running the read option. That would imply the eagles also ran the football during those days, especially with Mcnabb and Vick

Has nothing to do with race.  At the end of his career, Cunningham had to learn to be a pocket passer and managed to have a good season with the Vikings.  McNabb broke his leg and threw 4 TDs with it wrapped up standing like a statue.  Then he had to change his game to not run as much.   Big Ben utilizes the run to elude the pass rush.  He's a big dude but even he has suffered hits.  Guys like Brees, Brady, Mannings, they stand in the pocket and get rid of the ball so they don't get hit.  Running QBs get hit more, it's a fact.  And the more you get hit, the more likely you are to get injured.

This year is the first in a long time there will not be one of the "elite" QBs in the Superbowl.  If Kap wins it will be a first for this type of QB.  Amazing since he didn't even start the whole season.  Like I said, things are changing and this new breed of QB could be the future, but coaches need to design plays and teach these QBs in ways that get them to slide instead of run for the extra 3 yards and take a big hit, and get rid of the ball instead of trying to force a throw to make a big play and end up throwing an interception.  They have to protect these QBs because traditionally running QBs take a pounding and don't last as many seasons.

The run read option is why the 49ers beat the falcons.

Matt Ryan not converting a 4th and 3 inside the 10 is why they lost.

2 whole years?  My mistake....the read-option is here to stay.

I will say that one thing Cam has going for him is his size.  He should be able to take more punishment than some others, but it catches up to all of them eventually.
