This looks like a nice hire for Kelly if true

Dave Fipp Eagles new ST coach. Anyone would be an improvement over April, but Fipp will likely make a meaningful difference.

Fipp reported to be wearing Eagles attire at senior bowl !

Last good ST the Eagles had I believe was Harbaugh,

Was April the issue or the players? I really don't know.

He did a pretty good job with STs in Buffalo.

* I'm torn between the entire team just all imploding simultaneously and people like April being completely poor at their role. It's hard to say and isn't really fruitful at this point. Here's hoping this guy knocks it out.

Both...but aside from the specialists, I don't think the talent level for ST players is all that different across the NFL. It is about motivation, toughness, and execution. April clearly didn't do a good job with what he had.

I don't blame Bobby April at all. The depth on this team was poor.

I was happy to see that Bowles' career wasn't ruined by Reid. Good to see him get a shot in a sane situation.

I agree with you, although he has big shoes to fill following Horton who had that D playing at a high level.

Bowles was put in a no win situation at midseason, 90% of TATE would disagree though, because everything sucks over there

As opposed to your world where everything's rosy. I agree that he was put in a bad situation, I don't agree it was no win and I remind you its a situation he wanted. Further, his secondary was horrible from the minute he became the secondary coach.

Bowles was horrible stop making excuses for him. He just stood there like a statue while the Defense self destructed and quit on him on the field. Totally unacceptable for any coach.

Very true. He has tools to work with there, and it will be interesting to watch.

Hope he kills it with that defense next season.

Midseason, Wasburns DL is a "seperate" identity for the Eagles, like a rogue group "opposed" to a "team" game, the SEC. was bad because DRC was a me , me player, Coleman is NOT a starter by any means, allen was/is too inconsistent, maybe better coaching will help him?. namdi?, hell if I know?. There was too much much talent on the DL to protect the SEC going into las tseason, and the "thought" was the SEC would be good enough to bail out the DL if there was "no pressure",.....neither showed up. You could've put Bud Carson, Monte Kiffin, D. Lebeau, Buddy Ryan, Bellicheack etc.... in there and the results would've been the same. There's three things that sunk the Eagles last year: No OL, TO's, and most important----------> ZERO team chemistry
