I know he is kinda old and expensive, but we are in desperate need of a safety, and he's still playing pretty well. I saw somewhere (I believe NFL.com) that his contract is expiring after this year and the Ravens weren't going to re-sign him. I highly doubt the Eagles are willing to pay that much for an older player, but he still has a few years in him.

Even if he's still next year he's not coming here. Somethings wrong with you.

If Ravens don't resign him, my bet is he goes to New England as they have had interest in him for many years now, or he retires. No way would he want to end his career for a rebuilding team.

Yeah, I guess. But I was just putting it out there. It isn't often you see big name players becoming free agents. Especially ones at a position where we need to upgrade.

Well, he just announced he's not retiring.

And I'm not completely sure he'll be back with Baltimore.

I don't think we go after him though. He'd want to go to a contender.

The Eagles can be a contender. Many teams can have big turnarounds in one year. Look at the 49ers and the Colts. He is still one of the best safeties in the league. The Eagles should definately target him.

If he doesn't stay in Baltimore he will 100% go to the highest bidder.

Like I said, there was a source saying that Baltimore probably wasn't going to resign him. It really isn't a matter of him wanting to stay. But I know the Eagles signing him isn't a realistic scenario. I just wish

I think we could be a candidate. We will have the money, we're not in the AFC and he wouldnt have to worry about going back to baltimore as an enemy any time soon. But ultimately I think he stays in Baltimore or goes to the Pats

According to CBS' Jason La Canfora, "a lot of people believe" impending free agent Ed Reed will sign with the Colts. Reed — who doesn't even have an agent — appears set to hire proper representation and hit the open market. Although Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti isn't certain Reed will even play in 2013, he admits it might not be in Baltimore if he does. Reed would be reuniting with coach Chuck Pagano in Indianapolis, who served as Baltimore's defensive coordinator from 2008-11. Safety was a major problem area for the Colts in 2012.

I would trust Mortensen or Schefter much more than I would La Canfora

Why not be in your Mid 30s and go from SB champs to a team picking in the top 5?

Oh ya!

Ok Mr. Cynical a**. Nobody said these threads had to be 100% realistic. The only reason I said anything in the first place was because I know he's gonna be a free agent. Nobody actually expects him to come here. It would just be cool.
