I've listened a couple of times to Dawk on ESPN and I have to say Im really impressed (ok Im biased) but I thought he might not come through as polished as other people but he's just phenomenal.

I know Donovan was building his whole career to do this in the end but Dawk I find more impressive than D-mac as an analyst.

He's already one of the better player-analysts. Mostly because he's educated (and acts like it), not some idiotic buffoon. He's been on a lot these past couple days, hopefully he can get to be a regular.

Let's not start listing every idiotic buffoon who gets paid as a sports personality, we will be here until the end of time.

Sapp was the first person that came to mind when I wrote it. Deion a close second. Actually Michael Irvin might be the biggest of them all.

Don't forget Herm Edwards who has become a gimmick. Worse one.

And yeah, I like some of the former Eagles from the 00s era. Trott, Dawk, B-West. All solid.

This will be a good temporary gig for him until he decides to join the Eagles as a position coach.

I'd rather he go into coaching. He's got that fire. Coaching suits him better.

Yeah. What I said.

Why would Dawk want to get paid to be on a TV set, when he  could work 20-hour days in a high stress job where there's a 90% chance of getting fired?

He's an excellent analyst, but he'll never get a regular panel gig. He's not personable enough. He's knowledgable, he's serious, he's spot-on, but he's not fun, and that's what the producers are looking for.

I'd go out of my way to hear & see Dawk, either on radio or TV. He knows the game and all the responsibilities of the players = a real student of the game. I met him up at Lehigh back around '06. He, along with Trotter & Sheldon Brown came out to visit with the fans after practice and it was great to see them in 'real life' up close. Trotter & Dawk were both 'chisled statues'. I was shocked at how  JACKED  Trotter & Dawk were. Trotter was a  MONSTER  even without pads. I was surprised to see how 'smallish' Dawk looked without the pads . . . but make no mistake, that man knew how to  BRING  IT  on the field. We've not replaced him since he left and, sadly, we never will. He was one of a kind.

He has 4 kids includes 5 year old twin daughters......I think the TV gig is a great way to still be connected to the game, but still have a normal life with your family.

I agree. I was joking.

It's always funny when people get all hyped up about the idea of Dawk coaching in the pros.  He's already a millionaire. Why not enjoy that money for a while before committing to 100-hour workweeks and job uncertainty...

I would watch a television show in which Dawk would knit cat mittens and it'd be the only thing on my DVR and I'd watch it 24/7. Then I'd make it mandatory school viewing and push for a Constitutional amendment making it the only TV show in America.

If they fired the guys from Pawn Shop and replaced them with Dawkins by himself - it would be the highest rated show on TV.
