I want THAT guy at wr.  That's who we all thought the Eagles drafted.  That's not what Maclin turned out to be.  He's a perfectly good #2 wr, but the prototype of what I want for this offense is that scouting report right there.  Can Maclin still live up to that?  Maybe.

nope he is what he is at this point

With Maclin it's the inconsistency. There have been a stretch of 2/3 games where he's almost quietly dominant. Then there are the 3/5 catches for 30/55 yard games that encompass most of his season. He is perceived as injury prone because every TC or early season he has nagging injuries. He plays through them though. I think he makes some great catches but also drops some easy balls too. If he can get to a level where he plays above average for 10/12 + games he'd be more highly regarded. Easier said than done though. Be that as it is. He's a very good WR and it shows on this offense when he's not productive.

Usually it comes down to one thing with Maclin. People feel he is  too soft and alligators arms to many balls.

You know the old "for who, for what"   with another player.

Mind you I dont feel that way.
It's not that. He's just "there". To be a #1 pick you'd figure he'd be on an asencion, but his stats are somewhat stagnant. Productive, but stagnant.

Maybe CK's new system will benefit him.

49ers have two of the most physical CB's in the game, but to your point not many teams.  Not sure why we're even discussing this since the eagles are 16 mil over the cap and have so many holes to fill that even after cutting the obvious players they still won't have the cash for a luxury guy like Wallace.  Like you said this isn't madden
Cutting Vick and Bell puts the Eagles almost 10 million under the cap. If they land a big free agent they could free up more space by cutting someone like Nnamdi. They can work around this cap pretty easily and do just about anything they want to.

Maclin isnt Jackson but Jackson had the most explosive yr in NFL history at age 22. It's not fair to compare Maclin to a guy as gifted as Jackson. Maclin is still far better than average though.

It doesnt help that they both had one of the worst QBs in the NFL throwing to them the last couple yrs.

Wallace can't catch... Bowe can't catch.  Next options?

A bad year from Mike Wallace is still better than what Maclin brings.

EVERYONE IN THE LEAGUE WANTS TO WIN.

Of the near 2000 well paid players in the league, you think EVERY SINGLE ONE of them really cares that much about winning?

Doubt it.
