Not just Eskin. McLane, Derrick Gunn, others are saying it too. What else would they be waiting for? Grantham and others are available.

With Trgovac he could be waiting for GB to be done coaching Pro Bowl but obviously Donnatell is the only name we've really heard. I do find the logistics with Donnatell a bit odd. Considering they talked to the giants guy when could they have talked to Donnatell. Certainly not before the NFCCG. And really they aren't even allowed to have talked to him.

As for trusting Chip, I'm certainly going to support whoever he picks but that doesn't mean I'm not going to have an opinion on the candidates or the selection. We really have no idea if chip can build a good nfl staff yet

I believe they can talk to Donatell this week since this is a bye week unless that only applies to head coaching candidates. I honestly don't believe he's the guy they're targeting. I think Chip is just taking his time to see what this team is built for and what he'd be able to do with them.

Two years ago you could only talk to guys for head coaching positions. I don't think that changed but it could have

I'l take him over Fewell.

I'd second that but there is about 7 pages of the same on BBI saying the EXACT same thing...
Perfect move for the Giants, but as ususal, you just know they're gonna pass it up...the opportunity is there for improvement wi/out touching personnel yet and they're going to let it slip through their fingers...

3-4 is better against the short pass and the short pass is what rules in the NFL.

A lot of players said that about Tom Coughlin and yet they have won two SBs under him. First I say we don't know Chip Kelly and what he wants to do on defense, 3-4,  4-3 or some variation of those. Spags was DC for the Giants in 08 SB when they held the Pats to 10 points. He has a ring on the finger to prove he and his system is good enough to win at a high level. Having said that there are still some good choices out there, I like Greg Roman and others. If he hires Spags I think it would be a good hire
and let's remember Spags coached under JJ.

Giants and Eagles have similar players so Spags is a good a fit for the Eagles, I have no idea what he was thinking going to the Saints that defense is trash, and the talent is pathetic, without a bounty system they suck..

Even with the bounty that defense was nothing special. The year they won the Super Bowl they benefitted from an abnormal amount of takeaways on defense. The next year it normalized and their D went back to being bad.

I believe he looked at the Saints & Eagles situations and felt the Saints would've had more stability going forward. Payton wasn't going anywhere, they had Brees and they were a perennial playoff contender. The Eagles were in disarray and there were questions regarding Reid's future. If you had to choose between stability and a potential lame duck year, you're probably gonna go with stability.

WOW. Yes. I thought a quote from him this year was interesting though, basically said "i have no answers..." He is rumored to have a good relationship with Lurie, they did want Reid to hire him as the DC last year, and Chip did say he wanted a D that would bring some heat....hmmm..

Amen brother!!!!.... alot of people are forgetting that line what you said... that "Kelly is looking for a DC with many years of experience in the NFL".
Spags is not a head coach... with the talent on our team... and the monster we have up front... what he did for the Giants against the Pats in the Super Bowl... he can do that in Philly

What LBs are going to play in this new 3-4 scheme for the Eagles?

Not only is he a good fit... but he could bring that level of defense back to our team... he was a disciple of Jim Johnson's defensive coaching.
The Eagles have the talent on the front line, we need 1 more LB and we need SERIOUS HELP with our secondary.

I like the 3-4... but we are weak at the LB position... so at the end of the day if you have to put 4 out there at once and figure you have to have at least
2-3 back ups... WOW!!!! you will have to convert at least 2 DEs on the current team to play LB

Your right on everything you said... but... you need 4 LBs out there on the field... we dont have 4 solid LBs to put out there. The LB position has been our weakness for the last 4 years.

The people that think there are only 1 or two options out there need to open their eyes a little. There are many options left, probably at least 2 or three playing next week alone.
