I just heard on the radio that Chip is not the one picking his coaches and the FO has been. Is this true? Not sure I like this if true.

I heard Jeffrey Lurie asked Reid for help in hiring Chip Kelly and putting a new staff in place.

I turned WIP on yesterday for 5 minutes and heard that idiot talk.  If they are hiring him the bar is set pretty low.  Lower if you actually believe that fool.

At one point he talked about Chip not hiring his coaches, flat out wrong.

Then to shove the foot further down his throat he said that Ed Donatell never coached a 3-4 so he was concerned about the Eagles moving to that scheme.  The 49ers run a 3-4!!!!

Dave, either Ike is flat out stupid or he needs medical attention from being hit in the head so many times.  If it is the latter please get him help.

It certainly does appear that Chip is but one of the players in selecting the coaching staff, and maybe due to his lack of NFL experience that's the way it has to be. There was a report this may have been a bone of contention during negotiations, not sure how much of that I believe but it was out there. And I do remember Chip making a point at his press conference that the staff has to be people he selects, a curious comment I thought at the time.

I think he probably meant that Donatell has never been the DC of a 3-4.
