Hey Dave, I know that your not some messenger boy, but please tell Roseman and Kelly to look into Kirby Smart. This is the man with that special "shutoutability" that we need! He's the Defensive Coordinator of Alabama, and since he arrived to the scene Bama has had either THE best Defense in the NCAA, or darn close to it. In 2010 he stayed among the best in the NCAA even after having 9 defensive starters leave. After the 2011 season they lost 6 starters to the NFL and came back to have arguably the best defense in the NCAA, his defense will work in the NFL, and I believe he will turn our defense into something truly special............ This is "The Guy".

Pretty sure he said he was staying at Bama a while ago. They did look into him though.

Yes, I remember reading that too. He said he will be back at Bama next year. I guess he's looking for a HC type move.

Kirby's name has been mentioned several times in the past weeks and, as we've seen recently, the Eagles are approaching this very thoroughly

All I have seen are a bunch of names being thrown around and an interview with the LB coach of the Giants.   I don't know if they are conducting a thorough search or just biding their time until their pre identified target is available.

Hate to say it Dave, but why was'nt Horton or Moss interviewd for the HC spot and keeping in tune with the Rooney rule?, IMO, Kelly was Luries #1 target probably from watching Oregon score a bunch of points in a very soft conference that mimics the Canadian Football League

That's the thing about looking into the college ranks for new coaches that demands a lot of patience. They're not going to go out and tell the public whether or not they're going to stay because they don't want the high school recruits to know about it until their locked into the scholarship. If recruits knew that the HC or OC/DC is leaving, then they're a lot more likely to switch to their #2 or #3 school. That and there is always the same reason why Kelly kept it a secret, they want the players to find it out through them, not media.

Just because he told the media he was staying does NOT mean that that's what he's actually going to do. Every1 thinks that we're looking into superbowl teams and thats why we're waiting, but personally I think we're waiting until the college commitment deadline. I really hope I'm right on this, Smart will be 10X the DC that any of these LB/DB coaches in the superbowl.
