It's been a whirlwind month for Eagles general manager Howie Roseman. It was New Year's Eve, in fact, when Roseman and the Eagles said goodbye to longtime head coach Andy Reid and moved forward in ...

Having a flexible staff that can be piece together, in terms of combining everything into Kelly's image of how the team should be programmed. NFL teams are filled with top dedicated players, as an offensive intellect Kelly knows he'll need power at the LOS to resonate the game into speed, for his schemes to work. In Oregon, he had to get his line to control the play without so much of power, but forces defenses to shift in motion at the point of contract. The adaptation is going to be power controlling, forcing defenses to lose manipulation at contact. Kelly would have to push his line to create stunting techniques to control the LOS. The speed may hold the blitzing game with up to 2 seconds to set the ball in motion pass or run. This niche will flourish the run game for all the RBs/FBs, maybe some fleeting moments for the receivers coming out from the back side. There should be a lot of tricks against defenses, to keep them honest.

I think a 3-4 defense would do more harm than good. If you look at the consistent 3-4 defenses in the league, the Packers, the 49ers, the Ravens, they all have two or more DOMINANT pass rushers at the LB positions. The Packers have Clay and Aj Hawk. The Ravens have Suggs and Lewis. And I don't need to mention the 9ers. We, unfortunately, don't have guys like that. And if the defense has to adjust to 3 major changes in 3 years, it would be another long season.

3 comments on an article about Roseman's "vision" says it all.

Def think they want to go the 3-4 route. At the same time we have to overhaul the linebacker position. To pull it off. The Texans switched to a 3-4 and Ryans found himself on the bench. He and Kendricks were a couple of the only bright spots. So i think we have to show some 4-3 looks as well. We should get a couple monster linebackers. Either through the draft or free agency. Gotta build for the future without doubt, but still use the best guys we still have to our advantage. We are not gonna have the Ravens D in one year. Kelly said it's about knowing your guys strengths and using them. Win know means take your best guys, draft the best guys you can and maybe get a key couple guys in free agency. Not changing everything in a year, like we have seen the dumb skins do in the past. Cause a 3-4 would require not only bigger more physical LB's but bigger DE's , monster NT and DT's as well. Sorry that will take a couple years. Win now we need to use Ryans, Cox, Cole, and the best guys we have. On O we can't just throw some half @ss QB in their like Dixon. When we know Foles is a better QB overall. Even if he can't run like RG3. Foles is still smart enough to run a hurry up O. Kelce, Mathis, Herremans and Peters if healthy , are good linemen. Yeah we have to get a stud RT and a beast G in the draft or free agency. McCoy, Maclin, Avant and Cooper fit Chip's scheme. Djax does too but he is not worth what we are paying. We need another big target that is fast too.

Cole, Hunt, Graham can all be beasts in a 3-4. Thornton and Cox could play DE in that scheme as well. If they were not going 3-4, we would already have a staff. That is what Kelly runs. Funny how i said i wanted a D like the Ravens or Niners and now they are playing for a ring. 4-3 just is not cutting it. Might take time but they will mix it in. Can't wait to have those big 3-4 linebackers. We have been too small for too long.
