Look at their numbers, Smith was more accurate as a passer and had a better overall QB rating, Kaepernick is 2010 Vick,
49ers will trade away Smith and then Kaepernick will get found out.

So if Alex Smith demands $10 million a year, you're still ok with this?
Let's not jump to the idiot bandwagon so fast. There is something known as context

I'm just not an Alex Smith guy. He couldn't do **** until his team was absolutely LOADED and even then was only doing so in a somewhat limited role.
My issue wouldn't be bringing him here per say, it would be giving up whatever we would to get him while we're rebuilding around completely new philosophies on both sides of the ball. We need those picks.

His coach threw him out the first chance he got for a middle round 2nd year player. He couldnt wait to get the guy out of the lineup.
This guy has 44 TDs in the last three years COMBINED. He is on his very best day a game manager that defines the term injury prone.
If this happens it would tell me to forget about Kelly winning anything. It would show that his judgement is questionable at best. Different coach, same bull.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms the 49ers will attempt to trade Alex Smith before granting him his release.
NFL.com and the Santa Rosa Press Democrat both reported as much last week. However, coach Jim Harbaugh insists the 49ers will "absolutely" consider Smith's wishes when deciding his future. Schefter also confirms the Browns and Chiefs as possible Smith destinations. Smith's $8.5 million 2013 salary will complicate any potential trade, while teams may not be willing to surrender more than a fourth- or fifth-round pick.

It all boils down to the type of offense Kelly wants, and NONE of us know what he is planning. He may not even know what he wants to run yet.

Banner might get overruled by Haslem on how much $ to throw at Smith....and it would take alot obviously. But Haslem is determined to quickly make the Browns competitive and they cant get there with Weeden or Colt McCoy. Moneys still on KC tho.
