Half hate Vick and the other half have no faith in Foles.  Who will make you happy at QB next year?  I say we need to go after the best QB in the draft with the 4th pick.  I don't see EJ Manuel lasting until the third round as the bleacher report suggested today.  I say on draft day there will be a first round run on QB's which is the norm.

How about one that isn't a retread. How about one that is developing,  and has room to improve..

Or we can hope it finally clicks for some struggling, old, vet..

You know, either way..

Name names instead of saying anybody but Vick.  We know you want Vick gone but for who?

But for some (not myself), they honestly don't give a F who it is.  They could drag Matt Leinart or Jamarcus Russell out there instead of Vick, and some people would try and make it seem like an instant, guaranteed improvement.

Read, ****bag..

What names are we supposed to say? Nobody in this draft will shut me up, until they prove themselves. Foles will shut me up, if he's the guy..

Aaron Rodgers.. He'd shut me up..

Don't start a dumb*ss thread, and then rag people for not giving you good enough answers..

We don't have to name names, all we know is that paying Vick $15million to do what he's done the last 2 years would be monumentally stupid.  Last year I was pumped about our chances and he sucked, this year I was willing to buy the whole he needs a full pre season line and he sucked more.

You can accuse me of just wanting anyone but Vick and I say damn right, I've watched him ride our season into the toilet for two years straight. He isn't going to get better and he'd have to get a whole hell of a lot better to be worth $15million.

I wouldn't even want him to restructure, because all the time he's on our roster no one will get a fair shake.  Give Foles a go if he sucks we get another good pick and take one of the blue chips that come out next year.

Foles looks good to me, as does his back up, Edwards. But wouldn't mind bringing in another seasoned vet to increase the competition. We can't afford another coach to fall in love and force a quarterback on the team like Andy did with Vick, who couldn't even make it through preseason without getting injured and look where that loyalty and idealistic romance got the team.

Someone with potential.  Not someone who has been a perennial 3rd stringer or a starter who is clearly on the decline, whom was never good to begin with.

::: ON TOPIC::::

I like Foles, Im just under the impression that Chip wants to run a similar style to his Oregon offense. Not say hes going to transfer it straight over, but I think he prefers to have a more mobile QB than Foles. Which I am against. Id much rather have a pocket passer then worry about how good our back-up is WHEN he has to come in  :nonono:

Good answer and you passed this basic test question unlike other who will tell you "I hate Vick" regardless of the question.

If there was a good QB in the draft with the last name Vick ( no relation ) I wouldnt want him based on principle

There is a difference in not having faith in Foles,  and not really knowing what he is capable of in a full season as the starter with a healthy supporting cast. Something he has yet to have  experienced.

In the handful of games that we did get to see him play, we saw some very good things from him. And some areas that he certainly needs improvement on. But just hearing him, and what others have said regarding him, he has a great work ethic and  will work hard   to improve in those areas.  But in every phase of life, experience is always the best teacher. And we know he hasn't had a whole lot of that at this level.

As for half the fans hating Vick. I think you Vick fans fail to differentiate  from Vick the person, and Vick the QB. There may be some who still abhor what he did, and refuse to accept him.  But the majority here see him mostly as the QB. Who has had many seasons to improve on his football knowledge and skills, and fails year after year  to do so.

With his continued propensity for injury and getting older, man of us  don't see  his chances of success  being any greater than what they have been throughout his entire career. Yet many of you still want to continue to experiment with him. While at the same time seeing no value in allowing  Foles to mature and develope with this new coaching staff.

I've read comments where the Vicksters say how much Kelly and the new coaching staff will be able to work wonders with Vick,  in his system ( whatever that may be since non of us know ) yet fail to accept that the same possibility applies for Foles .

Nobody saw Tom Brady coming so I have to believe there is a starting QB in this draft and only 3 teams have a better chance to land him.

I see your a "half full" guy and thats good, but Im more of a realist. Tom Brady is close to a "once in a lifetime" type of QB. That goes beyond just his game on the field. He is a stand up guy  off the field. Hes basically everything you would want in a QB.

Is there a NFL starter in this draft? Yea, I guess there is if your teams thirsty enough for a QB. Is there a Tom Brady in this draft? Id say highly highly highly doubtful.

It's Rod Stewart... you know it goes back so far that I don't actually remember how it started. It goes back to around 2000 or 2001.

The ideal situation would be Foles as the starter because he's younger and cheaper.  I think Foles has the ideal size and is a smart kid.  I just don't think he is good enough to play at a high level in the NFL.  His arm and mobility are major concerns.  In 6 starts he was 1-5 barely but my issue is he didn't show me enough to make me want to see more of Foles as the uncontested starter.  Anybody who ever played ball will tell you it does not take 6 games to figure out if a baller can ball.  Even on a bad team a baller will ball.

I expect them to pick someone up in FA or draft someone for the future but, between the existing ones, I'd prefer to go with Foles.  He is younger, cheaper and at least has a chance to develop into a serviceable starter (I do recognize that there is also a good chance that he doesn't, but a rebuilding year with a weak draft class for QBs is a good time to find out.)  I am all for competition at the position.  But I don't want to waste any more time with Vick.
