“Say if I rewind this to Saturday at 12 o’ clock, me and you are sitting and I say, it breaks down whatever and whatever and then you have Michael Strahan and me. C’mon, the menace and the media darling," Sapp said. “C’mon. Madness or Good Morning America. I mean, c’mon.”

Wow, I never thought you'd ever get to the point where you'd use a Warren Sapp quote to justify yourself. You are a Giant hater, a moron, a tool, and now you used a Sapp quote. I don't even know how someone justifies that here. Sapp is an idiot.

Get your panties outta your vag, he'll get in... Sapp deserved it and Carter was getting snubbed for years. Carter is a top 5 all time WR, Strahan is outside the top 5 spot on DE. So why should strahan get in first ballet if Carter isn't?

I have lived in MD my entire life, grew up watching the Skins and Monk too. My entire family are sadly Redskins fans. You bring up the era he played in as like it was the 50s or 60s. He played from 1980-1995. Irvin retired just four years after he did. Carter, Brown, Fryar etc...guys I compaired him to were playing at that time so it's not like i'm compairing Namath to Brady. The ONLY current player I made mention of was Santana Moss...who is a few td away from Monk's career totals.
I honestly believe the reason Monk and someone like Andre Reed, who has more catches, yards, td, more pro bowls than Monk/Irvin (though lacks the rings, which shouldn't matter) took longer to get in was maybe due to the fact that they stuck around until they were washed up and padded their stats at the end. Monk and Reed played 15-16 years but were pretty much done after years 12-13. Of course Monk finished with the Jets and Eagles. I think the same thing is happening to Tim Brown, who played 16 seasons, padded the numbers at the end and finished with Tampa Bay. It should be interesting to see what becomes of Iasac Bruce...who played 16 seasons, went out past his prime with the Niners. He certainly should be a HOF lock in his first year but will he be? I also think any theory of Monk being held back because he was a nice guy is silly. That dooms Bruce and especially Peyton. Cris Carter wasn't a model citizen and didn't get in right away even though he should have. Or the theory of Tim Brown not making it because of recent comments. That too is stupid.
As for Monk Vs. Irvin...their numbers were similar however Monk played 65 more games and 4 more seasons. Again...could be the factor that kept him out longer.
