word is Boldin may be getting cut after the season is over due to the Ravens needing to clear cap room..still a solid receiver that comes up with clutch catches having jackson, maclin and boldin would be one of the best in the league. he brings leadership to the offense as well which is much needed

He's going to be 33 soon...doesn't fit the Eagles very young team

If I thought we had a shot at the SB next year I wouldn't be against it.  We don't though. No reason to overpay for an older receiver with so much work to do.

For now: Build through the draft, strive for youth, use cap space to take care of our own.

I've always liked Boldin. The discouraging factor is his age so the Eagles may not be interested in him for that reason. However, Reid & Banner are gone so the over 30 philosophy may or may not be kept.

If he does become a cap casualty (which I do not think he will be), I would love to bring him in. Yeah he's older, but the dude gets up. If Anquan Boldin is covered one-on-one, he's open. But more importantly, he is an excellent blocker, which is necessary in Chip's offense. I would love to see him brought in on a 2-3 year contract.

That said, I can't see them letting him go after the way he played.

No thanks, it's funny you catch a few balls in the playoffs after a very ORDINARY season and suddenly you become great. WR is not a huge need and they don't need a 33 yr old WR.

I think the Eagles will take one more year to see where we stand with Maclin and Jackson. We have a 1st and 2nd round invested in these two and they both combine for one pro bowl, tht is not very good IMO. I like the speed these guys bring to the table but I am all for getting bigger WR's in the future.....this small but fast technique just has not paid off for us so far.

After the playoffs and SB he's had, they aren't cutting him.

The real question is, even if Boldin became available, why on earth would he, at age 33, choose to come here when a number of playoff caliber teams are sure to come calling?

Believe it or not, but we don't have magic FA signing potion.

Agreed.  But we do need a player like Boldin (a bigger, more physical WR) to complement the smaller, faster receivers we have - hopefully they target someone in the draft that fits the description.

Boldin is the man i think hed be a great player to add for a few seasons in spite of age, toughest wide reciever out there and top hands, We'd have to discard avant though as there skill set is similiar but boldins better than jason ever could be. Hed be a great compliment to Mac nd Djax. doubt it would happen but it's be a good way to improve our wr corps and add a veteran presence on offense

i think baltimore is going to cut him either way honestly.. they want to free up money to keep their core guys longterm now that theyve won a superbowl..

I have a feeling Andy will try and make a offer for one of his former Eagles recievers. Dwayne Bowe is a FA and if he leaves they are stuck with Baldwin and McCluster at WR. Personaly I would LOVE to see Bowe or someone like Mike Wallace as an Eagle and if that happens I don't see them keeping Jackson and Maclin. Most likely Jackson would be moved because his role would be reduced and he wouldn't be the starter..which means a grumpy DeSean.

DeSean and Maclin at first seemed to a duo we would run with for years, we FINALLY found not one but two great weapons but DeSean's size and injury problems play major factor into his future and Maclin is not a true #1. Of course recently hearing we could've and almost had Larry Fitzgerald angers me. Free agency this year gives us options to add of Bowe, Wallace, Welker or even someone like Greg Jennings or 6-5 Denario Alexander who is coming off a solid season with the Chargers or Cruze (though as a RFA we would need to give up a pick).

And if released....NE is said to be interested.

Damn. I understand him wanting to stay with the superbowl and all, but that seems extreme.  Even at 32 he seems like he has a lot left in the tank.

I agree it's on the extreme side and I think it's a bit premature on his part. Maybe it's his way of trying to have some type of leverage or he's using that as a means to get the Ravens to at least keep him at all costs.

definitely using it as leverage no doubt in my mind. hed be stupid to retire at only 32 going on 33.

I think he genuinely want to stay with the Ravens though, so I'm not sure this really gives him any leverage with them.  Other than "they might feel bad" if they cut him, but I'm pretty sure that won't factor into the decision.

I agree but he has had some injury issues and maybe he wants to go out on top rather than find a new home/team.
