His situation highlights issues with our teams failures.

In the end this has nothing to do with the eagles anymore.

Vick put them behind the 8 ball more than the defense did. They did their best to keep the games close, only to have the star QB give the ball right back with a 3 & out, fumble or int.
I'm happy for Juan and for John, for finally having all their years of hard work pay off for them with a championship...even if it is with another team. They've earned it..

Castillo was DC for the team that pretty much shut down that Ravens offense, the defense that no doubt won that game vs those same ravens.
lol Remind me who the rocket scientist was, that fired him?

It's nice that Juan got a ring. He didn't 'deserve' one though. There are any number of hard working players and coaches in the league.

He is. I just don't think he was a good DC. It's nice for him that he got a ring. I'm pretty sure the Ravens said he'll be with them next year. This wasn't just a two week gig. His role might change a bit but I'm pretty sure he'll still be on the offensive side of the ball. I guess a true test would be if we took their LB coach. Would Harbs put Juan there? I doubt it

"He'll be a lead coach in terms of the run game and organizing the run game for us," Harbaugh said. "Of course, he'll work closely with Jim and all the coaches. Who's in charge of what? Guys work together on a staff. Coach Caldwell has done a great job of making that point time and time again."

I hate to say it but I think Juan was nothing other than Andy's scapegoat. It would seem if they were really such great friends as Reid stated Juan would have been more than happy to take his old OL job back in Andy's O.
Instead he accepted the Ravens job as a running game consultant and will get a SB ring. I am sure he will remain with the team and we will eventually find that Andy should have been fired and Juan should have remained in some form or another.
I really have a ton of respect for the guy and think he was put is a really crappy situation. He was not made the leader of the defense and instead was cut off at the knees by the guy who gave him the job.
Andy Reid was here for too long. He should have been fired after the Super Bowl loss in my opinion. But I never lost respect for him until the Juan firing. At the end of the day I hope Juan gets another shot on the defensive side of the ball. It would be great to see his defense without that hole that was the wide nine leading it.

I laugh at people who say stupid **** like this.
If the Eagles had fired Andy Reid after the Super Bowl loss, a coach who at that point had had five straight double digit win seasons, made the postseason five of six years as head coach including the Super Bowl and conferece title four times, they would have bee the laughingstock of the NFL and probably the entire country an Jeffery Lurie would probably have sold the team due to constant ridicule.
And by the way, Juan was garbage as a defensive coordinator, period. Firing him was irrelevant, he should never have been put there.

He shouldn't get a ring.
If he takes any joy in that win and actually pretends like he had anything to do with it he's a bigger shmuck than when he jumped the coaching ladder and took the DC job.

I'd say the offense put them behind the 8 ball more than I'd say it was Vick alone. Lets not pretend that juans defenses didn't have to respond to 6 turnovers on ST returns and 2 blocked punts, along with over 20 non Vick turnovers on offense. That doesn't even include the amount of dropped passes, missed blocks and ill timed penalties by the OL.
