Still don't get all the Kaepernick love. He runs fast and hit's wide open receivers... as does every other scout team QB. He beat up on some terrible defenses and looked pedestrian against the few good ones.

Seattle exposed him big-time when the 49ers went to Seattle late in the season. The Ravens did a great job on him in the 1st half of the game, then Holita Ngata leaves with a knee injury and thats when the 49ers start running all over the Ravens.

Thats something I havent seen posted once on here. It was 28-13 and Ngata lef with the injury and it changed the Ravens whole game-plan. Look at the stats for the 49ers offense before Ngata went out compared to the stats of when he was gone... Its night and day. That allowed the 49ers to be able to run, then that then allowed them to start passing when the Ravens started bringing up a Saftey or another LB. If he does leave I dont think the 49ers get back into the game like they did IMO

The seahawks exposed him by scoring 50 points and getting him way behind. Rumor has it if you do this vs any NFL team it will work.

Of course, 3 of the first 4 49'ers drives resulting in punts didn't have anything to do with that. They were 50 points down before the game started, right?

I think everyone is ignoring the fact that in the playoffs, with the exception of the GB game (where they let him run all over hells half acre), he looked average at best until the opposing defenses and offenses got up in the game and took their foot off the gas.

so are players supposed to have dominant performances every time they step on the field? I think most would be hard pressed to find a player that can do that. People are giving Kaep ish because he wasnt able to throw for 300 yards and run for 100 every game in his first 10 games of starting. unbelievable.

Nobody is giving Kaepernick ish. All I'm doing to reserving judgement until he plays more than half a season. What's unebelievable is the instant buttheart people feel if someone says anything to that point. People are talking about this guy like he's already made it into the HOF.

Alex Smith posted better numbers than Kaepernick did this year and he is a mobile QB but of course doesn't have the arm or running ability as Kaepernick does.

Kelly's Oregon quaterbacks turned out to be practice squad players or in the CFL. One thing Andy could do was groom/mentor a QB. Not sure if Kelly can. We will see.

Unless you are the 1992 Houston Oilers.

Imagine if Randall Cunningham in his prime could have been under Chip Kelly present time instead of Buddy Ryan or Kotite!

Phil Simms touched on this during the Super Bowl.  Prior to that I hadn't noticed it, but Simms said he likes to wait for the receiver to be completely open and then make the throw.  He will likely develop more anticipation as time goes on, but the problem with waiting until guys are open (as opposing to anticipating) is that throws will come in late.  This was evident in the Super Bowl.

Regardless, the guy looks really good, but I always proceed with guarded optimism in situations like this.  I remember when Rex Grossman had that stretch of games where was going bombs away and the sports media was going crazy.  Now-a-days Grossman comments are usually followed by laughter.
