Believed the reports that Eagles were going to sign an assistant from a SB team as D coordinator. Been looking around online today and have not seen a thing. Really quiet. Has anyone seen any articles or tweets discussing the latest? Thanks.

Nothing from any of the major "insiders" has come out. Probably won't hear anything concrete until late in the week.

It's not like they just can turn around and make it happen not even 24 hours after the Super Bowl ended. There is a process that the Eagles have to follow.

Ravens have their parade tomorrow. But if there is any kind of leak then you'd think you'd hear tomorrow that the eagles at least scheduled an interview for wednesday or thursday . If not, then it might be signing day for college and Todd Grantham. Since Grantham was actually the first name mentioned when this started that wouldn't surprise me at all.

I would think that whoever it is, he already knows and is preparing just as he would had they already hired him.  If it's an assistant from a Super Bowl team, they're probably just getting back to their home town this afternoon....so give it time.  If it's a college coordinator, he already knows and they're just keeping quiet until after signing day.  You'll know by Friday.

Preparing? If it's a SB coach he was preparing for his game and if its a college coach he stayed around to do recruiting. I don't think anybody was preparing except the assistants they already hired and Kelly himself

I'm still hoping they interview San Fran LB coach Jim Leavitt. Has a ton of DC experience as well as head coaching experience. He built South Florida into a respectable program. And he's done some good stuff with the 9ers LB's.

Does this process follow the same philosophy as the Eagles 2 minute offense.

That he did.  He built the South Florida program FROM SCRATCH and got them to as high as #2 in the BCS rankings at one point before they fell apart and was eventually replaced by Skip Holtz (who was fired himself after this season I believe).  He would be an interesting choice as a DC.

You're right.....assistants don't prepare themselves for the day they may get that coveted coordinator gig.  I bet John Harbaugh spent every waking hour focused on the Eagles' ST....then out of the blue...the Ravens called and he was ready to put his plan on display.  Same with Jim....he spent 100% of his time recruiting for Stanford up until the moment the 49rs called.

You were implying the guy was actively preparing for the eagles job as if he was hired. You really think guys who were in the SB yesterday were spending time going over eagles personnel rather than preapring for the game? Really?

Guys on the SB teams still have some internal stuff to work through.  We should know by the end of the week.

If not, then the process is a mess.

Go get Spags, when he has the rush end horses he's proven lethal, and that's the one thing we have. Too much change for a 3-4, no nose tackle, Cole's too old to play lb, so you're still two linebacker's short, the two pick isn't a great fit at 3-4 end or linebacker. Get us a secondary and let Spags do his thing.

Grantham.

The recruiting day stuff is bs.  It will come up in every conversation with a recruit about interest from the Eagles and pretty low of him if he waits until National Signing Day and the leaves.

Not like we're talking about changing around a top 5 defense from last season .

Do we really have the horses? And this team is rebuilding I don't think you make plans based on Trent Cole. His level of play after next season is highly questionable. Heck we're not sure about next season
