Flacco is a good QB, but he doesn;t carry that team on offense, not even close. Boldin was obviously the MVP of that game as well
All I can say is that Flacco wins. I WANT WINNERS!!

They don't pull off that playoff run without Flacco. Sorry Stephen, but those arguments just don't work anymore. Boldin made a lot of great catches, but Flacco gave him a chance to make those catches. Boldin never seemed to be able to get himself open in the first place, which is why the catches he had to make were spectacular. Flacco was far and beyond the MVP of that team.

OK being more serious....
A couple posters asserted that because the Ravens scored just 6 points in the second half, he's supposedly not all that good. But the Ravens called 19 running plays and just 13 passes in the second half. They were ahead, so dialed down the deep passing game. In addition, the Ravens rushing attack averaged just 2.7 yds/rush, not exactly helpful in freeing up the passing game.
Every time the Ravens needed it, Flacco delivered. The 6 points in the second half came on drives of 71 and 59 yards. He completed key passes, and repeatedly evaded the Niners' rush (by the way, did Aldon Smith forget how to tackle after Justin Smith got hurt? He got penetration but whiffed on several tackles).
Keep in mind too that in his first SB win, Joe Montana led the Niners to just 6 second-half points after building a big (20-0) lead. In Super Bowl XXIII, Montana's Niners scored just 20 points, and only 3 by halftime.
I'm not saying Flacco is Montana, but let's be realistic and not just look at the score and use the fact that the Ravens scored 6 in the second half against a defense that also shut out the Falcons in the second half as somehow indicative of poor performance.
And there's no comparing Flacco to Tebow. Flacco's team has won 62 games in 5 years, equal to Brady's Pats. Flacco has won more road playoff games than any other quarterback. He and Eli win road playoff games. They don't win them on their own, but each guy has down what he's needed to do in order to win.

Flacco owns Matt Ryan
No he doesn't. Flacco I have ranked 8th in the NFL. He's a good QB, but people overrate him because the last thing they remember is him having a very good playoffs. There are too many games where he looks incredibly mediocre to be in the same class as Ryan. Ryan is excellent. If Atlanta ever gets a defense, he will win multiple championships.

What is it? If its stats like passing Yds and TDs no Flacco wouldnt be consideres elite IMO, if we go by wins only, Flacco would be elite. It we go by Superbowl titles then Flacco is elite. Joe Flacco has the same amount of SuperBowl championships as Peyton Manning, Aronn Rodgers and Drew brees. He is one Superbowl behind Roethlisberger and Eli Manning, and 2 behind Tom Brady (but all 3 of Bradys SB victories have a * next to them IMO b/c once they got exposed as cheaters they havent won another title)
We need to decide what we need to base the ranking on. If you want stats like 5,000yds and 35-40 TDs Flacco isnt your guy, if you go wins then Flacco is your guy. He has more wins then any QB since the start of the 2008 season. He has arlready the most road wins by ANY QB in NFL history, in only 5 seasons, and I know of atleast 2 more games that he shhave won but WRs dropped TD passes in the EZ Boldin in Pitt in 2010, and Evens in NE in 2011o

I think it's a combination of factors. Wins. Road wins. How the player performed during the playoffs and the season.. And yes, stats, to a degree. But one has to look at the nature of the team he plays on, their philosophy. Flacco won't throw for as many yards as Rodgers because, lo and behold, the Ravens actually run the ball once in a while. Another factor is which opponents he faces. If he faces the Seahawks or the Niners, it's likely he'll have a tougher time putting up numbers as opposed to facing the Packers.
Other considerations: Has he led any comebacks? Does he turn the ball over a lot?* Can he audible effectively?
*While turnovers can be costly, some of the game's best quarterbacks have been known to throw a few INTs now and then. Guys like Bradshaw, Favre, and Brees turned the ball over but still won 6 Super Bowls combined. You can make that 7 Super Bowls if you add Joe Namath, though his credentials tend to draw debate b/c he threw more INTs than TDs over the course of his career and sometimes hurt his team with some really awful games. But overall, fewer turnovers are still a definite advantage. Just ask Michael Vick.

actual logic..... Thankyou for your input. And to your question... Yes Flacco has led a bunch of 4th quarter Comebacks over the last 3 seasons. And to your point about Flacco not not great stats because they run alot is on point. He probally has one of the top 3-5 RBs in the NFL with Ray Rice and people dont wanna take that into effect. Thankyou for posting Logic and not Hate at Flacco b/c of the superbowl game, we need more open-minded dicussion like that around here IMO
