Don't give me loads of Vick/Foles hate or whatever.

Firstly, obviously its unlikely Vick will be cut today, this doesn't mean anything however for next year, he could be cut later, he could be traded, he may start, nobody has any idea. I realised that absolutely nothing has been sorted by now, who knows Geno Smith may start next year!

I'm also very impressed with Kelly so far, he looks relaxed and focused in his interviews and will hopefully be a very strong HC.

However, when he was hired, many people said he was never a scheme guy, he never needed a mobile QB, he'd play to his strengths. Now I know i'm not a Head coach or a scout but if I was to go back and watch film on Vicks last few years, he just has not been good enough. Whether or not Foles outplayed him or not, the fact is that most head coaches would be more happy to try to build a team around a guy who is 1 year pro and showed promise than a 33 year old who's best days are behind him.

Even the people who said Kelly wasn't a scheme guy said it increased the chances of Vick staying, that doesn't add up.

The main reason I never wanted Kelly was that I was scared he really just was a scheme guy, I never wanted this. If he does decide to keep Vick and maybe add a guy like Dixon from the Ravens practice squad, then i'm beginning to get a little bit scared that he may actually is just simply a scheme guy.

Here's hoping he isn't, and we have great success next year! :D

Chip Kelly said himself he coaches to his personnel and isn't married to any particular scheme. For a lot of Eagles fans, that remains to be seen and that's something he'll have to prove. I think the decision on his QB will tell a lot as to whether he's married to a scheme or certain philosophies or not.

I think we will see something closer to the Patriots offense than Oregon.

I don't read anything about what Kelly is planning into Vick not getting released TODAY or Dixon being added Monday (if that goes down as people think).

Yeah I completely agree. Thats basically what his post is saying, if in September I still see Vick out there starting, to me that shows that he's married to a certain scheme.

In his scheme? Get the point?

Sorry just imagine we had Bruce Arians or Gus Bradley as our HC or any other candidate. Do you really think they would play Vick over Foles after the last couple of seasons? I just don't see it. I think if Andy had stayed, Foles would be starting and Vick would be cut. All the talk about Vick staying only fueled when Kelly was named HC?

How many HC's come in and start a 33 year old vet who played similarly to a rookie with a team of backups.

I am sure Kelly has an idea of what he would like to be able to do on offense and is looking for a QB who can do that. If this means he is a scheme guy or not I think is debatable.

This line of thinking implies that Vick IS the starter because he hasn't been released yet. Which I don't think is true. Maybe we're trying to renegotiate his contract so we can trade him or keep him as a backup. I don't think we can infer anything this early on.

If Kelly tries the full Oregon offense here, he'll be gone in three years and his "scheme" with him.

I love how everyone is freaking out about what offense we're going to run as if it's life or death this second. It's early February, we don't play until September. Calm down

why does he need a veteran guy.  His O just entered into the NFL last year and gained notoriety this year.  How many veteran players can there be for his style?

He needs an intelligent QB with excellent ball security.  When you boil his O down it comes down to running the most amount of plays possible in a game.

you don't think it's important to have the players in place to implement your O?  If you want to get those players FA and draft are right around the corner.  So its pretty dam important to figure out what O will be run now and not in September.

Having said that I believe Kelly knows what system he will be running

Kelly said he hopes teams game plan against what he did in Oregon last season. Because his offense in Philadelphia will not be that at all. Chip said he creates his offense based on the strengths of the players. I don't watch much college football so I would not know, but Kelly said his offense has been different every season and that was based on the personel available for him to use. Sounded good.

this nonsense is everywhere. all the fans and sportstalk shows are trying thier hardest to pushed foles down kellys throat. its rediculous

why dont people just chill out and let the man do his job and whomever he puts on the field whatever scheme he runs is because in his mind its his best option to win

maybe this town needs a guy like reid who will basically tell you to shut up you dont know anything

if kelly was sold on foles i think vick would have been gone and no meetings would have occurred. instead hes hanging onto vick right now and reaching out to dixon

Yes Chip Kelly is a scheme guy. People who honestly believes he isn't are fooling themselves. You don't hire a college coach who has reinvented the college offense and then bring him to the pros to run a traditional NFL offense. That just wouldn't make sense even for a "we're smarter than everyone" owner like Jeff Lurie.

So I encourage the few of you who have a little smarts to use yer noggin. Dennis Dixon will likely be Chip Kelly's Doug Pederson. He will be here for a season to introduce the rest of the players to the offense. Then he will be replaced by an actual NFL quarterback, probably from a high 2014 1st round draft pick. And yes, the Eagles will be drafting high in 2014. Don't fool yourselves about that, either.

Anyway, Michael Vick will not be here. 100 percent guarantee. They are likely trying to work out a trade scenario even if it only brings a mid to late round pick. That's better than nothing and would be some small reward for rehabilitating his career.

I feel good about longer term Chip Kelly success, but the short term is gonna be ugly. Prepare yourselves.

If he's a "scheme" guy and his "scheme" can win a Lombardi and then the wheels fall off and can't win even a single game the following year, I'll sit through that 0-16 season with a smile in my heart (as I curse at the TV).
