3-4 Mock..bringing the beef up front

Keys:
Bell cut (in real life!)
Nnamdi cut (no trade value)
DRC resigned
Tapp not resigned
**VICK RESTRUCTURED** 10 mil off
Colt, Dunlap and Dorenbos reisigned everyone else released of our FAs
Pat Shumur OC
Ted Monachino DC **guess we got Billy Davis
FA:
Some decent names no one huge.
Richard Seymour DE- he wants out of oakland and is sold on being the focal point on our new 3-4 in the trenches. Plus he's not nearly as expensive as years past
Paul Kruger OLB- gets out of Baltimore with his ring and them tied up trying to get flacco and Ellerbe and cary williams deals as well as a few others. Sold on immediately starting. Overpay a little bit.
Pat Chung S- new start for him under his old coach
Kenaan Lewis CB - not the best FA CB but he wants out of Pitt for some reason. Familiar with 3-4 coverages
Eben Britton OG- backup veteran could push to start
Dennis Dixon QB
Zac Diles ILB - back up
Draft-
1.) Star Lotulelei DT/NT/DE Utah- we come into the draft fully expecting to trade back after joeckel and star are gone but he's still there and we jump!
2.) Kenny Vaccarro S Texas - if you know my posts I'm a Matt Elam Fan all the way. But I think he goes first and around 25-32 range and coming into day two Vaccarro is the best safety left and with the right coaching I think he can be good. He just needs to learn the game and not play off athletics.
3.) Lane Johnson OT Oklahoma- we wanted joeckel to fall, he didn't. We didn't want to reach for fluker and Vaccarro was still there so now we attack OT with a solid guy
****EDIT**** to Oday Aboushi OT Virginia - after discussion we decided lane won't make it to the 3rd. Oday was the only bright spot on UVA this year.
4.) Tharold Simon CB LSU - DRC and Kenaan Lewis are solid starters but there's no reason not to bring in competition, thought he declared early but he's a good one
5.) Prentiss Waggner CB/S Tennessee- solid guy who can play both.
6.) Phillip Lutzenkirchen TE/FB/H-back Auburn- he was amazing with Cam Newton in the spread but after that with that terrible offense he fell off. Steal of the draft.
7.) Quanterius Smith 3-4 OLB Western Ky - 12.5 sacks before getting hurt and 3 of them on that guy DJ Fluker. Beast when he gets healthy again.
**NOTES**
****Didnt wanna keep Vick but it looks like we are leaning towards that. Just going off what it looks like we're doing
Lets see how the WRs perform before getting new ones, can be a priority next year
All reports have peters and the line healing fine, Kelly was solid at RT. Line isn't a gigantic need, just really RT.
D got a nice overhaul, lets see how cole, graham and curry perform and fit before shipping them off
QB - Vick/Foles , Dixon
RB - Shady , Brown , Lewis
FB - Havili/Lutzenkirchen
WR - Jackson , Johnson

Like the mock very much otherwise. I totally forgot about Lutzenkirhen. I haven't seen his name pop up but loved what he did in college. I wonder if he can make the transition to the NFL.

I was actually looking at that which is funny. I looked at Cribbs who will come at a big price even at 29-30 years old. I saw Darius Reynaud from the titans with 3 special teams TDs this year but you have to assume they lock him up. Maybe Julian Edelman? Ted Ginn? No one really to sign..feel like we have to develop somebody within. I though Dion Lewis would be good but I was wrong there lol

Johnson was considered an early 2nd (at worst to my knowledge) but looked really good at the Senior Bowl practices. May be a mid to late 1st now.

This was the first year in probably 4-5 years I didn't get to watch the senior bowl so I didn't get to see it, but I suppose after joeckel and Fisher, Johnson would be the next best OT so I suppose he really wouldn't make it to the 3rd. I'll make an edit of it

Thanks I tried to go a completely different approach then most. These mocks are getting to repetitive. I thought no big name safety, keep Vick since it looks like we will, no dumb trades etc. feel like its a possible offseason, still some holes but you can't fix them all immediately

And I just read something where they asked Kruger his plans for next season it was along the lines of: "I want to be on a team that wants me and I can go out and start and give it my all blah blah" sounds like he's open to leaving basically as long as its a fit. Gotta get him going to a 3-4!

Don't like Richard S,makes us older. We need a foundation of youth, with veteran role players.

Well i literally threw this mock together in 30 minutes this morning so I didn't think of everything but yeah add a veteran NT to back up Star, however I'm sure a healthy Patterson could play NT. either way need a true NT for backup purposes
However I could care less about how old Seymour is, he's a baller. There's no need for a "youth movement" we're already one of the youngest teams in the league. Seymour could play 4 years here before his time is up and we could easily find a replacement in that time. In the meantime he dominates up there with star and cox and Kruger off the outside. Monstrous front, Seymour is a stopgap on the DL and setting the foundation. Want us to draft everyone so it's young across the board? Nah you gotta sign older guys too. Plain and simple.

Also, I have no interest in bringing DRC back. Hopefully this can be avoided.
Draft- Lotulelei is a solid pick, we will need an NT to run Billy's 3-4. Might want to add another big-body DT/DE for this scheme through FA.
Like Vaccaro too, but not sure he drops to round 2.
Aboushi looked awful at Sr. Bowl - don't want him.
You definitely went in a different direction than most, so kudos for that. I must admit I know very little about most of the rest of your picks after round 3, so I won't respond to those.

Agree..absolutely no reason to let him walk. Young, talented and he was just down last year. How can you get up for the games at the end of the season when you're like 6 under 500 and you know your defense is terrible. He will be fine with a new scheme and players around him.
