The Carroll County Times says impending free agent CB Cary Williams is not expected to be re-signed. The Ravens are expected to try re-signing Williams, but he may find more money on the open market than they can afford. Baltimore has a handful of capable in-house alternatives for right corner in Corey Graham, Chykie Brown, and former first-rouner Jimmy Smith. LCB Lardarius Webb is also returning from a torn ACL. Williams is said to be seeking upwards of $8 million annually.

Thoughts? I would like to sign him and draft a CB like Rhodes or Poyer, to pair them with Cary.

I'd be fine with bringing him in, but not at $8 million per year.  I don't see him getting that regardless.

Agree. I would like to get Cary or Kyle Arrington from NE.

So? The guy can flat out play and has talent. He plays with an edge and a attitude. They are grown men Desean can get over it, unless he is a big baby. I also think your exaggerating a little saying he got into fight every game.

But thats your opinion.

No flat out, Cary Williams is a punk. He can play but he's a punk. I don't want that attitude on my team no matter the ability.

He's a little overrated, but I don't get why you guys hate his attitude, I think it is a good thing. Just look at Richard Sherman from Seattle. Trash talking is very effective if you know how to do it.

Very big difference. His attitude isn't get in your head and mess your game up.

He is worth 8 mil more then Bumdi and Doesnt Really Care.

The only other FA corner i would try to get is Kyle Arrington. Maybe take a look at Tracy Porter.

yes the Eagles corners played poorly, but I blame a lot of that on the scheme.  They had a offensive line coach as d coordinator, then he gets fired for Todd Bowles, who has never been a coordinator, who is a 3-4 guy in the middle of the season all while Jim Washburn was cursing everyone out saying his wide 9 would works.

All those guys think they are better than what they are.  Carey Williams aint the worth 8 mil.  I think Nnamdi will restructure and he will be ok.  They dont need to go after any corners.  REstructure Nnamdi and draft Miliner.  As crazy as this sounds I would like to see more of Curtis Marsh.  He has never had a real shot, WOuld rather see him and boykins than breaking the bank for another corner.

You think Nnamdi is going to restructure his contract,  to make less then 8 mil? I think he is set to make like 15 mil this year alone. He would have to take a big pay cut, and I dont think does. i dont want any part of either Bumdi or Drc. Im signing a fa and drafting a corner. Thats my deal.

Nnamdi has no choice to restructure, he aint gone get any love in free agency.  I think he would restructure no problem.  The problem is all the big time free agents corners, value themselves to high.  Carey Williams wants 8 mill and sean smith wants 7 mil.  They not even the best on the market, just imagine what the DRC snd talib will get.  I w

Bumdi is gone. I dont care about Drc. Talib i have a little interest in, but his workethic is non existent.  So until he can fix that im not giving him more then 8 mil.

Kyle Arrington still remains my favorite fa corner. Then Cary Williams. Talib is not far behind. But like i said his work ethic, sacres me off from giving him a longterm contract.

Never really saw him play other thanthe playoffs, but I have seen cases like this where a guy who is solid plays well in the playoffs/SB and gets a big contract and then fails to live up to it

Larry Brown & Dexter jackson

PS- some guys excell in one teams defensive scheme, then fade away in other teams scheme like the two above, and there have been others as well like Albert haynesworth in Wash, Namdi, Sipkes & Witherspoon in Philly , Adailus Thomas in New England

I think Cary could step in on this defense and be good. But we will see what Gamble and Bill think.

From Rotoworld

The Ravens are expected to allow free agent CB Cary Williams to hit the open market. This has been the thinking since the season ended. Williams wants a ton of money, and his agent expects him to "very much be wanted by many teams." Baltimore has plenty of capable in-house replacements. Williams has a knack for giving up the big play, and some team may overvalue him in free agency.

Jimmy smith is the 3rd corner on that team and when Webb is healthy he would be 4th. Jimmy hasn't panned out much more then Watkins did.

But still a very good back up. We will see what Watkins is this year.
