I know he wasn't drafted here, but I wish he could've joined the staff as a QC coach. Good player, high character guy. Wouldn't hurt to have him working with the backs.

Such a sad ending to his career.

Edit: Just read up on it, they didn't handle him the right way when they cut him. Typical Banner.

The guy found out through the media that he was cut... I remember him tweeting saying he had no idea the team let him go until he saw everyone talking about it.

I felt bad. Great guy and great player.

Weaver was a playmaker at FB. He was amazing in the short time he was here. That injury was horrible. I still remember that game vs GB. Kolb goes down, Weaver goes down...bad day.

It doesn't. I'm just saying, even though he's not a home-grown Eagle, I'd still be for bringing him in to the coaching staff.

Didn't he just sign a contract the offseason before he was hurt making him the highest paid full back?He was definitely a high character guy,we need players like him on this team right now more then ever.I hope by now he's healthy and can live a normal life.

That's fair, but it's not like he made a ton of money in his career.

Yep, he only made approximately 10 million dollars in 5 years.

How can a man raise his family with that kinda chump change?

We're talking the NFL. $10M is chump change, if that's your earnings throughout your entire career. That's also before taxes.

Anyway, maybe he doesn't want or need to coach, but a lot of these guys love the game and want to stay involved. I wish him the best in whatever he does.

If his salary was $10 Million, you can bet a big chunk went for taxes, then his agent, a publicist if he had one and then a portion to just blowing it because... well, just because. Still though, if he's a smart man and had even 10% of that $10 Million left, he could live nicely on it for a while. If he's really smart, he could turn it into a lot more.

Tragic end to the career of a talented fullback man, but the good news is he got paid not long before it happened. Hard to see how he has a grounds to claim mistreatment, the team paid him a fat contract with guaranteed money, he banked the money, went down, and they got nothing out of the investment.

I don't remember any Eagle, ever, getting so much fan support in such a short stint as a player here.  Very, very well liked guy and a great player.

Through the media ??? Like how almost every team and fan finds out that a player left for money to another team ??

yeah, from what I've heard it's a pretty demanding job.

and just to add on to that, not every ex-player would make a good coach if they wanted to.  There's no correlation between being a good player and being a good coach.

I wish the injury would've never happened. IDK if someone already posted these, most probably already seen them because they are kind of old.

You have to feel bad for the guy...

Are you comparing a player finding out about his own dismissal from a team with fans and other teams finding out?

If you were fired wouldn't you expect your boss to tell you before you heard it from your coworkers?
