here is what i would do. i would be aggressive in free agency and draft. and trade players for other players and or draft picks. why trade a qb that the eagles could use with more talent around him. so trade a rb whom the eagles have plenty get a safety and a high draft pick for McCoy or Brown.now i would pick up Scott lb ex jet cheap, because of age. grabbing one or two high priced players for 3-4 defense. use 4th all on star nt. get back in first round get teo lb from Notre dame.

what would you do differently?

to start i wouldnt make a position of strength weaker by trading mccoy or brown

i wouldnt give up multiple picks to move pack into the third round to take a LB with a dead fake GF and then go pick up an aging LB in bart scott...

i would fire you as the gm tho...

how did you come up with this ish?

1. Player for player trades aren't that common anymore. Mostly see players for draft picks.
2. There's plenty of talent on the offense. It has to be used effectively however. (Such as running the football...)
3. Which leads to Chip most likely using quite a bit of Brown and McCoy..you don't trade them.
4. High priced doesn't = good.
5. Star is the only close to intelligent thing you've said.
6. We need secondary help, not drafting a guy and his fake gf. Although maybe she can play safety as well as Coleman.

You build through the draft. PERIOD. If anything, it has been proven again or again that trying to buy talent simply does not work. Ask the EAGLES, REDSKINS and COWBOYS that and past history has a lot of value. The Giants meanwhile have been successful due to the drafting of players.

look if i could trade one of many rb's for an excellent safety and high draft pick or two. it makes sense to try to upgrade a position of need with a position you have plenty of already. y  a qb when the eagles May need All 3.

Plenty already? What are you talking about? We have our 2011 All-Pro and a bunch of nobody's that have showed some flashes of ability. Why in the hell would you trade away a star RB when you're about to draft a new QB who will need to lean on the running game?

And why would you acquire 2 more ILB's when we already have Kendricks and Ryans and are needing stand-up pass rushers? Are you on shrooms?

I'd be building my team around the potential of a McCoy/Brown tandem, neither is being traded. Next step would be making sure the Oline is improved and infused with some genuine talent (1st rounder probably) for Stoutland to work with.

I may sign a defensive FA or two, but the bulk of my roster turnover this season would be addressed by adding defensive depth through the draft and letting things shake out in TC.

I'd consider trading either or both QB's from last year for extra draft picks.

Are you talking about the Herschel Walker trade? RB's are first off valued much less now than back then. No one in this day and age will come close to giving up that kind of deal for McCoy.

Someday I will understand the people who want to trade away the best players on the team in order to pick up a player who may or may not pan out.

On that day I will have an elective lobotomy.

But by then it will already be too late.

Things were different back then.  Also remember that in that trade, the Vikings didn't think they'd actually be giving up so many picks as some of players that they gave up were better than what the Cowboys had.  Johnson had no intention of keeping them, but rather discarding them to get the draft picks.

You wouldn't get much in trade for Brown, and without McCoy what kind of running game would you have? There was a reason Scott was cut. Good luck getting a star NT in the 4th. And T'eo? Hugh risk. And pretty stupid. Your whole post needs a do over.

you need at least two mlbs in a 3-4 defense.i would trade Ryans for draft pick or two. he doesn't work in 3-4 D that's how e eagles got him.

Either a really poor trolling attempt or you actually believe this stuff.

Go check Houston in the playoffs before Ryans was traded. Ryans was their best defensive player on the field.
