Having plays called in on time, with enough time to adjust and call audibles as needed. I can't tell you how many times we've wasted time outs, or lost field position because the play not being called in right away. Cheers!

Exactly. I'd been saying this for years. I'd grown tired of the Eagles offense just getting to the line with 7-10 seconds left on the play clock.

Great post, and yet, somehow, I have a feeling this will turn into a Vick hate thread...

in the long term this could be beneficial but I don't expect it to be all crimson and clover for the first few games, or even the first season.

Foles done a great job getting plays off last year and making adjustments..Foles made a HUGE diffrence in this when he became the starter..Will see how Chip handles this but a QB that cant make the adjustments at the line will still waste Time outs. I agree the plays should get called in a bit faster just depends on whos running the show.

I cannot say that I am "most" excited for these to happen, it would be nice for them to get better. To me the things you listed were just things that a good quarterback does with his team by being smart and aware. Yea Reid sucked in time management but guess who else under the helmet needs to be aware of whats going on?

The QB's make audibles, adjustments at the line not the coach. I do think that Kelly's up tempo style will help our QB get in "sync" faster but again depending on who the QB is, we will not know if the correct decisions will be made at the line.

I am most excited to see what Chip can do with this team as a whole, especially with the praise that he gets. I think we will see little fundamental issues resolved this year just because Kelly gets the best out of his players and our players know that a new sheriff is in town. Reid never seemed to address the little things each week in practice, players knew what they could get away with in Reid, that ish won't fly no more with Kelly.

Not that I'm bashing Reid, but this was an issue not only on the offense but on the D as well. Time management wasn't their strong suit. I'm also looking forward to some diverse play calling. I don't know about you guys, but we became very predictable on our play calling for the last 5 years or so. Even our "trick" plays were easily sniffed out. Long bomb to open the game. Throwing on 3rd and short. Shovel Pass in the red zone. Screen on 3rd and long. Pass up the middle to Avant on 3rd down anything between 4-7 yards. Failed fade throw to the corners of the end zone on goal line situations.

Our play calls on the first three downs went either:
Pass, run, Pass - incomplete or short gain on 1st, short gain on 2nd, then pass on 3rd.
run, run, pass- short gain on 1st, short gain on 2nd, pass on 3rd
Pass, Pass, Pass  - inc on 1st, inc on 2nd, inc on 3rd

Towards the end there, if we didn't get a 1st down on the first two downs we were done. 3rd down was soo predictable (PASS). I'd love to see a stat on how many times we ran on all 3 downs that resulted in a 1st down.

That didn't take long for one of the usual suspects to chime in crying about the QB

He runs a fast pace up-tempo offense that runs multiple plays at a time. It's fast and those types of offense's are defensive killers.

It's basically flipping the script on the defense.  It actually simplifies matters for the QB because the defense will be too busy trying to adjust to what we are doing and won't have too much time for that pre snap disguise designed to confuse the QB.  Our offense will dictate the flow of the game and they will have to react to what we're doing.

There will be quite a few 'in-game' moments that Chip will shine in comparison to MM and AR.

.
The up tempo only comes when you gain 5 or yards. When you get the defense on their heels. No up tempo for negative plays or no gains. If Chip sees a weak spot or a match up that he likes he will quack attack it.

I'm exited for when we have a 3rd + 2 or a 3rd +1 we might run the ball. Instead of the 3rd + 18 play action pass after 25 consecutive pass plays.
