Full 1st round mock v 3.0 (02/22/13)

1. Chiefs - OT Luke Joeckel, Texas A&M
- I just foresee the Chiefs picking up a QB via trade...likely a Foles, a Flynn, or even an off-the-radar guy like Ryan Mallet. Also, Geno Smith, IMO, just isn't worth the #1 overall selection.
2. Jaguars - DT Star Lotulelei, Utah
- I think the Jaguars' top focus must be pass rush. Though they could lean to a DE like Werner, Moore etc...Star is the right pick here. Good value and a need for a team that's clearly rebuilding.
3. Raiders - DE/OLB Damontre Moore, Texas A&M
- Moore could be a better fit in a 3-4 as a pass rushing OLB, but right now I'm not sure the scheme Oakland will run, but I can certainly say Moore is an intriguing prospect and this is a good game-changer for a poor front 7.
4. Eagles - OT Eric Fisher, Central Michigan
- I'm not in love with taking a OT here, but Fisher's talent is undeniable. The OT position is a strong one in this draft and although I'd prefer to go defense here, I think you have to look at this poor OL from last year and immediately notice that an upgrade must be a priority here. I'm hoping we can grab a guy like Albert or Vollmer in Free Agency, but if not, Fisher makes a lot of sense here.
5. Lions - CB Dee Milliner, Alabama
- This is a simple, no-brainer pick. The Lions desperately need a franchise CB and Milliner is the best one in the draft.
6. Browns - OLB Dion Jordan, Oregon
- I think Jordan will solidify himself in the top 10 with a solid combine and Pro Day and the Browns need to add a dynamic player in their front 7 in a tough division.
7. Cardinals - G Chance Warmack, Alabama
- I would imagine the Cardinals know they must address the OL early and often in the 2013 draft. Warmack could be the most complete player at his position in the draft when it's all set and done, though I'm sure they'd prefer Joeckel or Fisher if it's at all possible to grab one of them either by trading up or seeing one fall.
8. Bills - QB Geno Smith, WVU
- I know Doug Marrone will want to address the QB and WR position, but taking Smith here isn't terrible value and they can work on adding weapons via FA or later on in the draft. For now, take the only high ranked QB and run with it.
9. Jets - OLB/DE Barkevious Mingo, LSU
- The Jets have problems all over the place, but adding a young pass rushing OLB in their 3-4 scheme is high on the priority list. They can look to later on in the draft to address the skill positions, which is also a desperate need.
10. Titans - DE Bjoern Werner, FSU
- The Titans likely will be somewhat surprised to see Werner fall this far, but if he does it's an easy selection. He's a better 4-3 DE fit from my understanding and the Titans must upgrade their DL coming out of the draft.
11. Chargers - OLB/DE Jarvis Jones, Georgia
- Injury risk aside, Jones is an elite pass rushing OLB to fit into their 3-4 scheme. Another team with needs on offense, but the draft is just too strong on defense here. They will roll the dice here with Jones and hope he can stay healthy because the pay-out could be huge.
12. Dolphins - WR Keenan Allen, Cal
- The Dolphins must surround Tannehill with weapons and Allen is arguably the best WR in the draft. They will continue to add throughout the draft, but WR is likely their most pressing need.
13. Buccaneers - CB Xavier Rhodes, FSU
- It's a toss up right now between Banks and Rhodes, but there's no denying that Tampa needs CB help. I believe Rhodes will separate himself from the other CB's and solidify his position as the #2 CB available in the draft following the combine.
14. Panthers - DT Sharrif Floyd, Florida
- I think Floyd is the kind of player that can go anywhere in the top 15...even as high as #2. However, if he falls, he won't fall past Carolina at 14 who need to upgrade the DT position if they wish to improve a below average defense.
15. Saints - DE Ezekiel Ansah, BYU
- Although the Saints are switching to a 3-4 Ansah could be a good fit in any scheme. Scouts have him going as high as the top 10, but I think right in the middle of Round 1 is about where he ends up. He's a riser though, so don't be surprised if he's already gone by the time the Saints are up.
16. Rams - S Kenny Vaccaro, Texas
- One of the Rams bigger needs is at Safety and Vaccaro is the most complete S in the draft. Pretty simple, smart selection here for Jeff Fisher.
17. Steelers - OLB Sam Montgomery, LSU
- A good scheme fit for the Steelers who's aging defense needs a shot in the arm. Montgomery could be labeled as a reach here, but the Steelers have always gone by their own board and not what the so-called experts have gone by.
18. Cowboys - DT Johnathan Hankins, Ohio State
- Monte Kiffin's new Tampa 2 will need a stalwart DT to kick things off and Hankins is really solid value here for Dallas.
19. Giants - DE Alex Okafor, Texas
- The Giants select another DE here, but they need a boost because Umenyiora could be moving on and it really was an underachieving year for the Gmen at the DE position. Okafor here would be a reach, but there's just too many 3-4 guys available and not enough 4-3 DE's left.
20. Bears - MLB Manti Te'o, Notre Dame
- Really makes the most sense for Chicago to roll the dice on Te'o. Urlacher is at the very end of his career and Te'o's upside is still intriguing despite his bizarre fake romance that likely will impact his value.
21. Bengals - RB Giovanni Bernard, North Carolina
- The Bengals need to inject some youth and playmaking skills at the RB position because Green-Ellis, although serviceable, likely is not the long-term answer at RB.
22. Rams f/ WSH - WR Cordarrelle Patterson, Tennessee
- Amendola may or may not return and Quick didn't play up to expectations. This might be Sam Bradford's last chance so the Rams need to at least surround him with a couple more weapons to give him a fighting shot at being successful. Look for OL and RB help later on.
23. Vikings - CB Johnathan Banks, Miss St.
- Winfield is aging and the Vikings will need to address the WR position somewhere in the top 3 rounds, but Banks is a good prospect and fits a need for the surprising Vikings. Going against Calvin Johnson, the Packers dynamic offense and Brandon Marshall will influence this pick.
24. Colts - OT Lane Jonson, Oklahoma
- Need to give Luck more help along the offense line and although I like Barrett Jones here, I think Johnson is the better prospect.
25. Seattle - WR Terrance Williams, Baylor
- Pete Carroll needs to give Russell Wilson more weapons. Rice and Tate are decent options but they need to add another body to the WR position moving forward.
26. Packers - G Johnathan Cooper, North Carolina
- Simply need to upgrade their offensive line because they did a poor job protecting star QB Aaron Rodgers last year.
27. Texans - CB Desmond Trufant, Washington
- Good value here for Houston who needs to improve their defensive backfield.
28. Broncos - S Matt Elam, Florida
- Raheem Moore got burned against Baltimore but really, their S's were not particularly good all year. Elam has a lot of upside to help that improving Bronco defense.
29. Patriots - WR Justin Hunter, Tennessee
- New England has always gone against the grain in the draft. They do it their way and they've had plenty of success doing it. They need to give Brady some outside weapons though because that's a big weakness for team that really doesn't have a whole lot of weaknesses.
30. Atlanta - TE Tyler Eifert, Notre Dame
- Even if Gonzalez returns, they still need a long term solution at TE and what better way to address that than with the best one in this year's draft.
31. 49ers - WR Tavon Austin, WVU
- The 49ers can afford a luxury pick because they have a complete defense and solid offensive weapons. Still, rumors of Manningham being cut, Moss continuing to age and really no outside deep weapons at WR can push this selection on draft day.
32. Baltimore - C Barrett Jones, Alabama
- They need MLB and S help, but they also lost Matt Birk to retirement. Jones is far and away the best C in the draft while there are plenty of other option later on at LB and S.

Nice to predict a slight faller.... Werner, I could see it....
Okafor to GMen spells trouble......I see them moving up for Warmack......even bigger trouble.
Atlanta moves up for Jarvis Jones..... They can get a TE later on..... They gave too many pts up...aging D
Niners..... Luxury picks are very very sexy! They are too smart..... Jonathan Cyprien SS
Great Eagles selection.....Looking at the roster T is really really really ugly......
Good mock RUE...

The mock? I used Drafttek as a reference but changed it up quite a bit.

I honestly don't know. I definitely haven't copied anyone else's work nor have I actually seen any mock with Austin going to San Fran.
