CUTS/NOT RESIGNED-Nnamdi Asomugha, King Dunlap, Trent Edwards, Jake Scott, Stanley Havilli, Chris Polk, Derek Landri, Darryl Tapp, Kurt Coleman, Akeem Jordan, Phillip Hunt

RESIGNED- Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie CB 4 years 30 million(team opt out after 2 years), Jon Dorenbos LS 3 years 2.75 million, Colt Anderson 3 years 3 million

TRADES-  Nick Foles traded to KC for 3rd round pick in 2013 draft

Eagles trade 2013 2nd round pick, 3rd round pick and 6th round pick to Cincinatti for 21st overall pick in 2013.

Trent Cole traded to NE for 4th round pick in 2013

FREE AGENCY- Chris Clemons S 4 years 20 million, Keenan Lewis CB 4 years 22 million, Terrance Knighton DT 2 years 6 million, Kedric Golston DT/DE 2 years 4 million, Kaluka Maiava LB 1 year 1 million, Chris Spencer OL 2 years 3 million

DRAFT-

1) Geno Smith QB WVU-After watching this guy over and over again I'm convinced that this guy if available will be the pick as our next franchise QB. He fits the system a lot better than Nick Foles does so a franchise QB is needed. The old saying is "if there is a franchise QB available you take one if you need one"

1) Lane Johnson OT Oklahoma-With this pick the offense is put in place for years to come now. You have a franchise QB and a franchise OT. Johnson will start out on the right side then slide to the left once Peters is gone.

3) DJ Swearinger S South Carolina- Swearinger comes in and competes with Colt Anderson and Nate Allen for the starting job at SS and will likely win. This guy can flat out BALL.

4) Chase Thomas LB Stanford-Thomas is a perfect fit in the new 4-3 under scheme as a SAM LB. He will come in and compete with Kaluka Maiava for the starting job at SAM.

4) Jordan Reed TE Florida-Reed comes in and competes for a job with the 2 other TE's Harbor and Sudfeld for the new starting H-Back position. He is VERY similar to a former Florida TE that currently plays for the Patriots.

5) Kwame Geathers DT Georgia- Geathers comes in as depth behind Terrance Knighton as the NT but could be his replacement after Knighton's contract expries.

6*)Josh Boyd DT Mississippi State-Boyd was a former teammate of Fletcher Cox on the defensive line as his former partner at DT. Boyd will come in for depth behind Cox and Thornton at UT.

7) Zach Sudfeld TE Nevada- Sudfeld comes in and competes with Jordan Reed for the H-Back job since it sounds like the FB is being eliminated from the offense now here. He will at the least be a guy used for depth.

7*) Tanner Hawkinson OT Kansas- strictly a pick for depth at this point in the draft along the offensive line that you hope will turn into something.

*projected compensatory pick

DEPTH
QB- Vick, Smith, Dixon
RB- McCoy, Brown, Lewis
HB- Reed, Sudfeld
WR- Jackson, Maclin, Avant, Cooper, Johnson
TE- Celek, Harbor
LT- Peters, Hawkinson
LG- Mathis, Reynolds
C- Kelce, Spencer
RG- Herremans, Watkins
RT- Johnson, Kelly

LE- Golston, Thornton
NT- Knighton, Geathers
UT- Cox, Thornton, Boyd
RE- Graham, Curry
SLB-  C.Thomas, Maiava
MLB- Ryans, Matthews
WLB- Kendricks, Chaney
CB- Rodgers-Cromartie, Lewis, Boykin, Marsh, Hughes
FS- Clemons, Allen
SS- Swearinger, Anderson

If the eagles draft someone at 4 overall, he needs to start day 1 at QB

I know we need a franchise QB but I would really like to wait until next years draft for that.  Also not a bad draft but I dont think Cyprien will be there in the 3rd he's been linked as a 1st round target

I like the idea of getting Moore and Lewis in free agency. And Sudfeld as a late round flier pick... I might go with a different TE than Jordan Reed there, but it's solid. Also, Chase Thomas in round 4 would be insanely good value but do you think he'll drop that low? He very well could, i have no idea.

If thinks worked out this way it would be great. That being said...so many things are just not close to reality. Johnson probably won't get passed SD at 12 and if he does the Rams at 16 would love to take him. Cypren has a better chance of being a 1st round pick than a 3rd round pick. Reed and Thomas are both likely gone in the 3rd. As far as free agency goes, it's highly unlikely Moore makes it to free agency. He is the Falcons top priority other than trying to convince Gonzales to play 1 more year. With Knighton, it's possible he can be a NT in a 3-4, his only pro experience is as a 4-3 DT. In addition to that, he also lost his starting position this past season in Jacksonville which doesn't bode well for him since that DL is mostly trash. Lastly, I think there's going to be a lot f competition for Lewis this off-season...including Cleveland who has his old coach as the DC.

You're wrong about that. Did Don start right away when we picked him at 2? If he beats out the vets in camp right away then fine. You want to solidify your OL before you start your rookie QB that you pick as your franchise guy. That's why Reid brought Runyan in and didn't start immediately. That's why the Giants didn't start Eli immediately or the Chargers with Rivers.  A team like the Texans who did their franchise QB immediately with no OL in front of him saw their young guy looking at the pressure instead of the field which ruined the chances of him becoming a solid starter for them.

I completely agree with this philosophy. My only concern is this year the Eagles are in position to nab the a potential franchise QB in Smith, but who's to say they'll be in position next year?

it really seems to me that chip has 3 choices with the QB situation... draft Geno as his guy, keep foles and pray he works out, or be ready to sell the farm next year

made some minor changes with jenkins and patterson gone now..and with your guys input about cyprien i see mixed reviews on him i see some saying low 1st, some saying anywhere in the 2nd and some saying he could fall to the 3rd with the depth at saftey in this draft.  all that aside changes have been made here
