This is from a Chiefs website, but it's an EXCELLENT analysis of Foles. You blind Foles haters out there should educate yourselves here.

There's no point is trying to win over the Vick lovers. It's similar to Kolb and McNabb, they just don't want Foles to be the guy to replace Vick. Foles made some big time throws and a lot of the mistakes he made are coachable, and he's a very coachable player.

No need to show Nick making 2 nice plays. I think if you look enough you could find any QB (including Vick) making same highlight plays. Let Nick go out and win the job. It's right in front of him if he's good enough to grab it.

Funny enough he disagrees with you on Foles arm.

Quote

He has the arm strength to get the ball firmly outside the numbers on out-routes.

Great read, and Nick clearly has the potential to be a good QB in this league. There's no doubt those plays were perfect examples of what great QBs in this league do (throwing mechanics, read progression, improvisation, accuracy, etc). I also 100% agree that he'd be the clear-cut choice in KC over Smith. However, that being said, that doesn't mean he'll have the same success in a Chip Kelly coached offense. He'll have a tougher time winning the job here than he would in KC if they were to trade for him.

Yeah if you read the article it states he mostly likes Foles because of his contract compared to Smith's. It also goes on to say bring him in to compete with a rookie QB drafted this year which shows you what he really thinks of his intangibles he speaks of in the article. We all know this is a very weak QB class and if Nick needs to compete as he states in the article it shows how lowly he thinks of him. I have nothing against Nick and as I stated the Philly job is there for the taking but stop trying to make him Tom Brady.

Good thing I didn't miss that.

And I want Foles to win the job. I just cant help but point out that this could be posted in about a dozen other threads currently on the EMB.....

This. I seriously have very little doubt that Foles will go on to be a good QB.

He didn't show 2 nice plays. Clearly didn't actually read the article did you.

And I cant remember seeing Vick make a throw with pressure in his face like the second throw anyway.

The articles a brilliant read anyway. It isn't biased towards Foles its completely honest, points out his weaknesses and his strengths..

This line sums up my opinion

I like that Foles struggled to start and then developed throughout the season. It shows coachability and you could see the maturation of a quarterback.

This... that's all Foles needs to do.  Go win the job!  Should be pretty easy right?

Really?? There are a ton of plays that Vick completed last year with pressure in his face getting crushed.  Foles getting blasted is a microcosm of what Eagles QBs have had to endure since Reid lost his mind.  Try another bash.  That's the one thing Vick gets credit for is standing in there and getting crushed while making a play.

What?

No one is trying to make him tom brady. No one mentioned brady until you did.

Why wouldn't he compete in camp? Trading for a guy with 7 nfl starts and anointing him your franchise's unquestioned QB and saviour would be pretty silly, dontchathink?

Disagree. Maybe a few, but every defense continually blitzed against us with Vick as QB. Everyone knows Vick is renown for being poor against the Blitz.

This is what makes me laugh. No one ever said he was Tom Brady except the Vick Huggers. Just like most people never claimed he was "our Savior" either.

haters will hate....Jonny to the front of the line..Vick huggers...interesting nice assumption. On one hand you get mad for the Brady statement but then assume if people aren't that high on Nick they are Vick huggers...again haters will hate

First you don't remember any and now it's maybe a few? If you actually watched and properly remembered the games from this past season, you'd have realized that both QBs had to make throws with direct pressure in their faces and got hit while making throws under duress on numerous occasions. Stop trying to prop up one QB by disparaging the other.

What I meant was, it was rare that Vick ever stayed in the Pocket without any intention of running when being charged by defenders. Foles on that play had absolutely no intention of escaping or avoiding the defender, just simply to get the ball out on time, pressure or no pressure.

Then again, Foles doesn't have the athletic ability Vick has clearly, so maybe its unfair to compare.

Foles had huge weaknesses last year, I just really believe they are weaknesses that he can be coached on. I don't think Vick will improve anymore I think his best days are behind him.
