Dee Milliner's combine: Could force teams into trade up with Eagle

"Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner had a simple message for those who questioned his athleticism: “Watch the NFL Combine.”
"If they were watching Tuesday morning, those questions no longer exist.
"Milliner put up the fastest time of the morning so far by a defensive back, running a scorching 4.31-second 40 on his first attempt. His second was a 4.37, validating the first one.
"That kind of speed clears up one of the few remaining concerns about his game, and likely cements him as a Top 10 pick.
"Actually, it probably does more than that. Detroit is picking fifth overall, and has a glaring need at Milliner’s position. So anyone who wants a shot at him is probably going to have to be in front of them, or make a deal with someone who is."
Was thinking teams would want to move up for Joeckel, Fisher or Geno Smith which could put us into play as a trade partner but Dee Milliner's combine add another dimension. (That's if we don't pick him ourselves)

Knowing the Eagles also need corner help (depending on free agency), they could offer the Eagles a nice package that Howie wouldn't be able to turn down.

Yea teams most definitely do. If Detroit is desperate for Milliner they may very well move up one spot to prevent even the possibility of somebody leapfrogging them. (This is, of course, assuming 1-3 don't move, and it is known the Eagles are trying to move down.)

While he did struggle reaching up for the ball, it is important to remember that he currently does have a torn labrum.
He didn't look as comfortable as I would have thought with this footwork, and change of direction. He looked a bit stiff. I would be more concerned about that.

This happens all the time. Cleveland traded up one spot for Trent Richardson. Getting a free 4th round pick would be awesome.
(Minnesota got a 4th, 5th and 7th to move from 3 to 4 last year)

I agree about your last comments and if you watched those drills back to back with a bunch of the other DBs , many were better in their backpedals, footwork, turning. It seems he may be better with the play in front of him. Although he wasn't terrible in those drills. My fear is there are other corners in the draft that are as good or even better.
Thing is you could maybe trade back and still get a CB or even a safety at worst and still have 3 more picks in the top 70 so you could get 2 corners, a starting safety and still have another pick to play with that is almost a 2nd rounder.
