Mock Draft (No Trades)

I will assume that, with our team having 25+ million dollars in cap space that we may go after a top talent OL and depth at OL, and most likely a solid starter at NT and DT
And now for the draft...
1. Demarcus Milliner CB Alabama
Obviously our entire secondary played horribly last year, Milliner ran very well at the combine which really was my only concern with him. should be a great shut down CB for us
2. Jonathan Cyprien SS Florida International
He's been compared to Brian Dawkins, played extremely well at the Senior Bowl. Replaces some of the trash in our safety positions
3. Darius Slay CB Mississippi State
Not really noticed as much in Mississippi because of Banks, but he covered very well, and ran well at the combine (unlike Banks). May not be an immediate starter but provides great competition at CB
4. D.J. Swearinger FS South Carolina
Not sure if he'll even make it here.... I've seen him projected all over the place from 1st round - 4th round. cbssports.com is what im using for prospect rankings so he "should" be here.... Competition at Safety for Nate Allen (or anyone we add in FA)
5. Kwame Geathers NT Georgia
we just released 2 DTs and we need a NT for our new defensive scheme, assuming we get a starter in FA, Geathers will be in the rotation at NT
6. Michael Buchanan DE/OLB Illinois
Depth at the Predator position incase our current DEs cant make the transition.
7. Cornelius Washington OLB Georgia
Georgia player that got lost in the film because of his pedestrian stats and all the other Georgia players that are higher projected. Combine machine, just a project player that showed potential
7. Jeff Locke P UCLA
Powerful kicker, great power on kick offs... comes in to challenge at Punter
Incase anyone is wondering i read somewhere that we have 2 7th round picks. Depending on where you get your projections some of these guys may not even make it to where i have them, let me know what ya think.
Rip away :)

And Mayock said Buchanan is a 3-4 round prospect, but I see him going in the 4th, not the 6th

That said, I don't see it happening. I think we go rusher in either 1 or 2.
All in all, though, It's not a bad draft. I'm not sure about Milliner though. Something about him that doesn't ring well with me.

i was kinda like you on Milliner, but really my only prob with him was i wasnt sure about his speed... but he ran well at the combine so i feel better about it

49ers played three rookies in the year Ronnie Lott was drafted. If the front office deem the best players available at that time are all in the secondary then so be it. Rome wasn't built in a day and it will take us at least one season of rebuilding to get close to the playoffs again.
