Last Mock before FA (3)

Still think there's a real possibility that they select an OT (Joeckel, Fisher), CB (Milliner), DT (Floyd) or OLB (Jordan, Mingo, Ansah) with their first pick but I hope they can realize a tradeback in order to stockpill picks!
The news that Nnamdi distanced himself from his teammates, left a bad taste in my mouth! Maybe he doesn't want to be here anymore and maybe we don't want him to be here anymore! Nnamdi doesn’t want to restructure, Eagles eat 4 mln, but save 11 mln.
Eagles sign Free Agents Sean Smith, William Moore (or Dashon Goldson/Pat Chung/Glover Quinn), R. Jean-Francois, Matt Shaughnessy.
(Moore and Goldson both want to test the open market and will probably be available. In this scenario I expect them to sign Moore. Chung is our back-up scenario)
With the addition of Shaughnessy, Trent Cole becomes expendable. Eagles decide that if a team is willing to give up a 4th round pick, it’ll settle the deal.
Of course there’ll be more players cut who don’t fit the new sceme/don’t have a future here/cap-casualties.
KC has it’s QB now in Alex Smith and picks Joeckel first overall. At 4 Geno Smith and Eric Fisher are still on the board and the Phone rings; a few teams (say; Bills, Jets, SD and maybe Arizona) like to trade up and get into a biddingwar… One of ‘m is willing to give up their second, fourth and a conditional 2014 3th or 4th rounder.
Draft;
Round 1; Dion Jordan, OLB, Oregon
One of the most intruiging players in the draft and the kind of OLB/SAM we don’t currently have on the roster. A big need if we move to a 4-3 under or a
3-4 defense! Only but is that he needs surgery and needs to gain about 20 pounds! Might I add that he already played for Chip in Oregon and our coach
really likes him a lot?!
Round 2; Jonathan Cyprien, S, Florida Int.
We need a safety and one of the best in the draft falls into the second. Eagles don’t hesitate and grab him! Vaccaro and Elam will both be picked in the
first round and that leaves us with a guy who reminds me a bit of tha Dawk!
Round 2; David Amerson, CB, NC State
I know! There might be better CB’s on the board but I think guys like Xavier Rhodes and Desmond Trufant will be selected in the 1st round and a team just picked up Jordan Poyer right in front of us. Amerson had a good combine and showed he’s got all the talent in the World. Maybe 2011 wasn’t just a fluke? With the right coaching he could be special!
Round 3; Kyle Long, OT, Oregon
Depth for our O-line (in case Kelly doesn’t work at RT) and a player who already knows what it’s like playing on the O-line in a Chip Kelly offense!
Eagles use one of their 4th round picks aquired in the Cole trade and a 6th to trade back into the 3th round.
Round 3; Brandon Williams, DT, Missouri Southern
We already invested in a DT and DE in FA and now add the ideal rotation player for our defensive line! A massive guy!
Round 4; Michael Buchanan, DE/OLB, Illinois
Another tall guy who can play DE or OLB. We need defensive players who are versatile!
Round 4; Travis Kelce, TE, Cincinnati
Competition for Celek and Harbor.
Round 5; BPA
Round 7; BPA
Offense;
- QB; Vick, Dixon, Foles
- OL; Peters, Mathis, Kelce, Kelly/Long, Herreman/Watkins
- RB; McCoy, Brown, Lewis
- WR; Jackson, Maclin, Avant, Cooper, Johnson, McNutt
- TE; Celek, Harbor, Kelce
- FB; Havili, Igwenangu
Defense;
- DB’s; Amerson, Moore, Cyprien and Smith.
- LB’s; Ryans, Kendricks, Graham/Curry (Predator), Jordan, Buchanon
- DL; Jean-Francois/Williams, Cox, Shaughnessy,Thornton, Graham/Curry
(Jordan/Buchanon)
Dion Jordan and Michael Buchanon are hybride DE/OLB and can be used in the 4/3, 4/3 under and 3/4. Brandon Graham and Vinny Curry are both predators in 4/3 under, could be OLB in 3/4 or DE in traditional 4/3. These 4 players give the Eagles the flexibility to switch from a traditional 4/3 to a 4/3 under and even to a 3/4 defense. Like Roseman said; defense has to become more versatile…
Alternative mock draft if Eagles can't or won't trade down!
A) Pick a Tackle;
1) Eric Fisher;
2) Jesse Williams;
3) D.J. Swearinger / Phillip Thomas / Shamarko Thomas;
3) Robert Alford / Jamar Taylor;
4) Michael Buchanon;
4) Travis Kelce;
5) BPA;
7) BPA.
B) Pick a CB;
1) Demarcus Milliner;
2) Jesse Williams;
3) D.J. Swearinger / Phillip Thomas / Shamarko Thomas;
3) Kyle Long;
4) Michael Buchanon;
4) Travis Kelce;
5) BPA;
7) BPA.

Posted it twice! LOL. See the other one... Sorry! It's a trade...using one of our acquired 4th round picks in the Cole-deal and a 6th to trade back into the 3th...

I mostly EMB from my phone, so I forget about my sig. It's an older one so it changes almost weekly when I write mocks in this forum. Jarvis Jones' problem is his back, however doctors says he's completely fine, and he could be a great pass rushing option. But not sure who I want at 4 yet. Maybe after pro days.

I don't like Sean Smith. He was targeted the most, allowed the most TDs, the most 1st downs, allowed a 55% completion rate to his side, and I think he's overrated.
(Cary Williams, Aqib Talib, Keenan Lewis, Mike Jenkins)
Spend the 1st rounder on a pass rushing OLB/DE after spending probably 6-8 million a year on pass rushing DE/OLB Micheal Johnson? Where I feel pass rushing is important and need depth, that's a lot of investment on pass rushers. Maybe get an ILB or DT to play DE in free agency?
(Larry Grant, Danell Elerbe, Rey Maualuga, DeAndre Levy, Sammie Lee Hill, Pat Sims, Desmond Bryant)

You know what?! I'm a bit addicted to reading and writing Mocks. One day I hope they'll draft a tackle like Fisher or Joeckel. The other day I see Milliner run the 40 and really really like him. In Dion Jordan I see a guy with a lot of potential, could be really special like Aldon Smith. But so could Ansah, Mingo or Jones... Just hope they do the right thing in FA and Draft so our defense becomes respectable again! Miss the days of Dawk and Vincent! For some reason I don't worry about the offense that much...

Also rather have another CB but like you probably read, Eagles have interest in Smith. It's not what I want but what I' think they are going to do. Smith reminds me of DRC and that's not a good thing! One day he plays good and hard, the other he quits! Rather have Keenan Lewis or Cary Williams for that matter. See Johnson more as a DE than a OLB. That's why I did it...

Id almost put money on it that 95% of the time, when the 1st interest reports start coming out, the team never gets that player.
Johnson did do more, in a 4-3 defense at DE, however in a 3-4 I think he will have to stand up at times or be that over DE.

Yes! A good QB in next years draft and a brutal tackle... Defense needs an overhaul and they started already with the release of Patterson, Jenkins and DRC... Takes a few years before we're at the top again...

Give me a FA DT, OT or OLB you would sign!

Sammie Lee Hill - DT/NT, Detroit
Alan Branch - DT/NT, Arizona
Mike DeVito - DE/DT/NT, New York Jets
Quentin Groves - OLB/DE, Arizona
Phillip Wheeler, OLB, Oakland
Delanie Walker - TE/FB, San Francisco
James Casey - TE/FB, Houston
John Phillips - TE, Dallas
Greg Toler - CB, Arizona
Keenan Lewis - CB, Pittsburgh
Chris Clemons - FS, Miami
Glover Quin - FS/SS, Houston
Doug Legursky - C/G, Pittsburgh
Cooper Carlisle - G, Oakland
Ryan Harris - OT, Houston
Andy Levitre - G, Buffalo <-- not really under-the-radar anymore
IMO these are more of the type of names we will be looking at. I'm not ruling out the possibility of a flash free agent signing at all, in fact I think it is highly likely we get one big name guy. I just don't think we go out and sign 3-4 blockbuster names.

Instead of getting one good guy of get 3 or 4 cheaper guys.
Eben Britton, Victor Butler, Larry Grant, Matt Shaughnessy, Sammie Lee Hill. All players who can fit the system, and get new starts in new places. Definitely not blowing the bank. Add in
All would probably accept less than 3-4 million a year.
If you want to spend a bit more throw in Alan Branch.
And this list is in addition to your safeties, a CB.

So we would have two guys who could do just that?! Jordan need surgery and will be out a few months. We need a couple of players who could play more than one position on defense. Versatility is the key word!

No, I don't refere Dion Jordan to the best safety the Eagles ever had! I meant Cyprien becomming a hardhitting precense in the backfield! Jordan is a project; a guy who could play OLB, DE and drop back into coverage... Needs to "Hulk" up!

I don't think he meant he thought Dion was like Dawkins, he was saying he wants a defense that makes plays and offenses fear.
