Mock Draft 3.0 w/ FA signings

Makes sense to me to include FA signings before mock draft.
FA Signings:
-Andy Levitre, OG: We need a RG that is soild and durable. Danny Watkins needs to go back to fire fighting as far as I am concerned but would be a solid backup if he stayed.
-Ricky Jean Francois, NT: He is not the best NT but he is a solid player that has paid his dues as a backup in SF and deserves a chance to start.
-Sean Smith, CB/Cary Williams, CB: Obviously CB is a need and it is essential that we signed one in FA. Both have the size and speed to guard WRs in our division that are big and physical.
-Jairus Byrd, S/Dashon Goldson, S: These are 2 completely different style safeties but either one would be an obvious upgrade to the bums we have back there now. Byrd would we the first choice but if the Bills tag him or sign him back then Goldson is a good choice as well. Goldson is a solid player that will bring the physicality back to our defense.
(Names are clickable to some highlights)
Round 1:
Dion Jordan - DE/OLB - Oregon - Height: 6-7 - Weight: 243:
As a former student from Arizona State University I can say this man is as good as advertised. I am not saying we are going to pick him because Chip Kelly coached him. i am saying we will draft him because he is a physical specimen that is hard to come by. He is very athletic and has the tools to become an elite (yes I said ELITE) pass rusher in this league. What separates him in this draft from other players like Jarvis Jones and Moore? He can cover! He is not the best cover man but just because he was a former receiver he is a natural athlete that can run with quickness. He would be an immediate starter. I don't see anyone else at number 4 that we can draft besides Fisher from Central Michigan. He will be an immediate starter opposite Cole/Graham.
Round 2:
E.J. Manuel - QB - Florida State - Height: 6-4 - Weight: 237:
I will be honest and say that I was a little bit skeptical on EJ Manuel just for the simple fact that I didnt not see him air the ball out, which is what Eagles football used to be about. But after watching more game tape and the senior bowl he has a nice arm and tight spiral. He can operate the offense that Chip Kelly ran at Oregon (I am not saying that he will run the same thing with the Eagles). I would prefer Geno Smith over Manuel but Geno wont be here and he is not worth #4 overall pick. EJ Manuel is an athlete and is very actuate in the short passing game. I think Chip Kelly can highlight what Manuel is good at and bring out his best. I would love is Xavier Rhodes made it down this far but after that 4.41 he ran at the combine that made me almost cry because I knew he will be a first rounder for sure. Manuel would be the starter down the line or maybe at the end of the season if it is looking ugly with the quarterbacks.
Round 3:
D.J. Swearinger - S - South Carolina - Height: 6-0 - Weight: 210:
Oh man where do I start with this guy. I have watched South Carolina this whole season and this man is all over the field. He plays with instinct and tenacity. He is fearless and he will lay down the lumber whenever he can and this is what he need back in Philly. As Chip Kelly tries to give this defense an identity as a fast and physical defense we will see that by the way he drafts and in free agency. Swearinger does get flagged a lot for celebration after big plays but that just shows his passion and that can be corrected. He was flagged a few times for big hits that were clean but I can careless about that. He is not the best cover man but he can make plays and I feel with the right coach he can be a solid cover man in the league. His best attribute is that he is a leader. He was the emotional leader of that defense and that's a good quality to have. I will have to say that he is my biggest sleeper pick in the draft. If there is any player I want the Eagles to draft it is this man. He can challenge to become starter at strong safety.
Round 4:
Darius Slay - CB - Mississippi State - Height: 6-1 - Weight: 190:
When i watch tape I don't understand how Banks is rated above Slay. From what I can see on tape Slay is a corner with good size and speed that can play well in man coverage. But in zone coverage he can get lost at times which leads to big plays for the other team. He is not afraid to tackle and has held his own in big games like Auburn and Alabama. He is also a good special teams player which can raise his stock a little bit. Slay takes a lot of chances in coverage which gets him in trouble as well. I would take a chance on him because he has good upside. In the fourth round he is a good value pick. Could challenge for the second cornerback spot immediately or in a couple of years.
Round 5:
Justin Pugh - OT - Syracuse - Height: 6-4 - Weight: 301:
This is nothing more than just a pick to build depth in the offensive line. Pugh was a beast in his junior season but had a less than stellar senior season which drop his draft stock a lot. He has great upside which was seen his junior season so if he can get back to that type of play he could be a steal. He is an athletic offensive lineman that fits Chip Kelly's mold of an offensive lineman.
Round 6:
Chris Gragg - TE - Arkansas - Height: 6-3 - Weight: 236:
Chris Gragg an athletic specimen that has a lot of good tools to be a productive tight end in this league. Does not have much tape as you would like to see but I think in the sixth round he has too much potential to pass. Chip Kelly loves his tight ends and Gragg could challenge Harbor for the second tight end on the depth chart.
Round 7:
Brandon Williams - DT - Missouri Southern - Height: 6-1 - Weight: 341:
Very productive player in the the lower division of college football and he is worth a shot in the seventh round. He can build some of the depth at defensive tackle.
Sam Schwartzstein - C - Stanford - Height: 6-3 - Weight: 290
With Kelly coming back from injury we need depth at the center position. Schwartzstein is inconsistent but has potential.

As long as we keep Foles, we'll not draft a QB early.

Also I like Jordan in the 1st but we could trade down to any team that might want to move up for Geno Smith, Chance Warmack, or Dee Milliner and pick up another 2nd.

Lets not forget that is what people were saying about Brandon Boykins last year. Plus Slay was a 5-6th round prospect before the combine. I think Slay will be there in the 4th because there are a lot of talent in this draft in the mid rounds.

Levitre will not be tagged because they are saving that tag to use it on Byrd or no one. Reports are saying the Bills will not use tag on Levitre because that is too much money to spend so he will most likely get a chance to test free agency. I agree Byrd's chance is slim to none but I will pray that he does not return so he can hit free agency and play with us haha. Cary Williams will hit free agency for sure because the ravens have so many people they have to pay and he is low on the totem pole which I think will be a big mistake because he is a good player on the rise. As for Goldson I think he will want the niners to play him top safety money and I doubt the niners give him a fat contract. Especially since this safety class in the draft is deep as for as depth goes and they have a boat load of picks.

Cary Williams' agent was already quoted in saying he will test FA. The Ravens have decent depth at corner.
I think the 49ers will draft a younger, cheaper replacement for Goldson within the first two rounds.

telling from your avatar I completely agree with you. I would love to have xavier rhodes get drafted by the Eagles but I am mad that its not going to happen. It came to the point where I wanted him to run a decent 40 lol not a 4.41 that makes him a first rounder for sure. I still have faith there is still a 0.1% chance we draft him

Totally agree! Look at SF's picks this year! They don't have that many needs and have the ammo to select Goldson's replacement in the second round (mark my words; guys like Eric Reid, Jonathan Cyprien and Matt Elam will be their targets). Cary Williams will probably not return to Baltimore (they have other players to sign)...at 28 yrs. he should be in his prime right now!

Same here lol. I was watching with one eye open. But, you never know since Trufant has been pick up some mo from the Senior Bowl . He can jump Rhodes and maybe Rhodes can slip to us in the second. Im praying for that to happen.

Not a fan of EJ Manuel...
Love the Dion Jordan and D.J. Swearinger picks though.

No way we pay 8 mil for Goldson. I think FA will be used on the O line or on the big boys up front to fit the 4-3 under. NT is a glaring need and they are cheaper than the 3 technique pass rushers. I don't think we splash the cash on an Ferraris in free agency - a Subaru or two makes more sense.

Thats what I thought too. Hes a good player but not at 8 mil per year. I would like to see them go after someone like Pat Chung. Good safety if he can stay healthy and I think he would be affordable for sure.
