  1. Past hour
  2. Wentz is going to get paid and people will whine about it like they whined about Fletch's contract.
  3. See... you lose me with this ... EVERY year. IDK... you love Foles... he's gotten hurt every year and pulled out of action ... never played 16 games ... does he have an injury clause. Which QB has an injury clause? It is what it is... we either sign him or you let him walk .. and then go QB chasing again. Those are your two choices. Doesn't matter how touch guy you want to be with contract negotiations ... he's not signing that type of contract ... the NFLPA won't let him either... LOL... well you got hurt in college... so sign this... lol. Yeah... uhhhh that would be a hard no from me Bob.
  4. Again... 1 year he couldn't finish the season ... that's the reality. The college season he won a title after coming back from the wrist. Last year he was pulled out... would have played if they weren't looking towards the long term. Again, they want him here long term, the Eagles organization are his biggest fans. Get used to it... he is your QB for the next decade if not longer.

They won the championship but do you want to have to count on a backup QB to get you there or win it every year?
  6. What happened at the end of the year after Wentz broke his bone? Michael

He even said he got hurt 2 plays before the TD taking an unnecessary hit. Wentz has not finished the season 2/3. Call it him not going on IR but basically he did, because he never dressed another game all year. He broke a bone in his wrist his senior year too. So 3 of the last 5 years he has had serious injuries, also his only years as a starter. I'm not holding my breath on him either way but I wouldn't bet the future of my franchise and risk a huge contract without putting an injury clause in the contract either.
  8. 5 out of the last 6 years the Eagles will play away on a Thursday game! At this point... a little research by someone in the organization to review the schedules over the last 10 years or so... and see about the other teams. This is the way to make your point. Present the data to the schedulers ... no need to mention Thanksgiving ... and let them draw their own conclusion. I'm sure we will have a few teams jumping on board ... the rend result should be Dallas and Detroit playing every other year in a road game on Thursday ... aside from Thanksgiving!
  9. Yeah.... the bartenders do fine around here when the games are on the road... because there are less guys at the game and more in the bar.
  10. Today
  11. Ask the bartenders and servers trying to make a living if they miss the home games. The NFL makes money, the workers lose.

Yes I do realize that it is going to take time and isn’t going to happen over night but have to start somewhere right....But for the future of the game being able to add to the talent pool is never a bad thing even if it will take years before it ever truly happens
  13. The away Thursday game... not easy! Again, I think Lurie was smart in bringing it up ... teams will pay attention now as Dallas and Detroit continue to avoid the away Thursday games.
  14. Well, I am going to the GB game so hoping they find a way this year...
  15. They have been playing basketball overseas for generations... different than football... it would take a lot of time. But this is how things get started, I'm sure this is the idea ... to eventually get to this. A little exposure to the star players playing the sport at the highest level could create the interest. They get their own leagues started, might not even have to be tackle .. just the idea of playing the sport. Then from their it goes. They send guys over here to train etc. A little at a time. But I don't ever fear the things GBFL does... no way do I see an owner allowing his team to go overseas more than once a year... nor do I see it possible for it to happen from their end... soccer is huge there, they need to schedule around other events. For now it seems what they are with a few games is probably the max that will happen. 0-1 for Schwartz though right? ... same vs Wilson?
  16. We are 0-4 against Rogers.

I wonder if the NFL can ever get anything similar to the NBA when it comes to overseas....Could they generate enough interest to get a legit league started over there let young kids exposed to the game and learn....Just thinking how much the talent pool could possibly increase if that were to happen is what interested me....Just think how much talent the NBA has gotten over the years from overseas leagues.....Not sure it will ever truly happen but if your a sports league I think it has to be something that at the very least intrigues you
  18. True... what 0-3 vs Dallas when Zeke started ... lost to Wilson two times .... Rodgers has beaten us what ... 2 times? With Schwartz ... thats once vs Rodgers and once vs Wilson. He needs to prove he can beat those teams.... losing two times to GB and Seattle would be a major trend and concern .... With that said... I'm looking at the NE game.... Tom Brady hasn't proven he can beat the Eagles since that great team of 2011. A lot of trends here... will be interesting to see what happens.
  19. Well, I don't worry aboutthe draft chart ... but I think when one pick is worth 720 ...and 5 others combined are worth 230 ... thats me just saying, what could the Bears offer to move up to pick 25 or higher. They could offer their whole 2019 draft and I don't think thats near enough. Nor do I think they offer their whole draft to move up for a TE when they already have Burton. I as trying to see what GBFL was thinking with that post? He may see something I don't ?
  20. After looking at the schedule there are 4 games I'm interested in. The Eagles never beat Rogers or Wilson as starters so those two games for sure and the Eagles haven't beaten the Cowboys with Elliot starting either. Lets see what Schwartz has in store for these guys.
  21. Stine... again though.... there could be another event at the stadium to where the city recoups $$$... But I don't think 1/8 or that revenue is that big of a concern ...when it could come back in the long run. I don't like it either ... I would play all Eagles games at 1pm and have the rest Sunday and Monday night ... and have everything easy. But GBFL always seems to miss the point... nobody was arguing in favor of it, just saying the league is going to make money... he seemed to be in denial of that.
  22. BG, I really think it is only used as a reference. Rarely does it even out per the chart. Thinking is how badly the team wants to move up or down...
  23. DC.. there is an article I just read on 247 sports about this ... "the Bryce Harper influence" lol. I don't see why its an issue ... give the Eagles a 1pm game with the Phillies at 8-8:30? Who knows.

Does that chart ever honestly work out???? I never go back to look at the points after draft day trades to see if they even out but just doesn’t seem like it has any real value but to mockers Oops quoted the wrong person lol my bad
  25. I think he just does not like having games outside the us. I also do not like it. Do I understand why? Yes. Do I think it is fair to the hometown fans? No. Does the hometown city lose money because of this? Yes. Will the NFL Club lose money? No.
  26. Only finished on IR in 2017 ... again, this is missed by a lot of people... after the Dallas loss and it seemed very unlikely that the Eagles would make the playoffs... even if they won the next 3 games .... they decided long term to take Wentz out. He was never placed on IR. He also played arguably his best ball of the season at the end of that Dallas game ... similar to the Rams game the year before. You can put whoever you want "ahead" of him ... which is fine... I don't even care to do rankings, but Wilson over Ben for sure when it comes to winning. Wentz is our guy... at this point you just say... if I had to bet on any one of them long term... which want would you bet on .. Goff, Dak ??? I would bet on Wentz... because similar to Kelce who got hurt in 2 of his first 3 seasons... I just think that stuff evens out. I can't really blame him for getting injured while running in a TD? I can blame him for coming back a little early after the knee injury, but I also think if Foles goes 2-0 and looks good, that he continues to rest... can't blame Wentz for his RBs not knowing how to block, and his OL getting all those injuries so that he was getting hit a lot early. I can't blame him for being inexeprienced either... that will come with time. For me... if I had to wager... it makes more sense to think he will succeed, and succeed big. He checks all the boxes... and seems like the type of person that will learn with experience... similar to the lesser talented Foles, who seemed to learn from when he was here before.
