    NFC Divisional: Saints @ Vikings.

I don't understand... Didn't you say that Aikman was "drinking when he said that the Saints needed to go quickly?" I was merely pointing out that when you're down 17-0 and you're in the second half, it makes sense to go quickly and, thus, I'm not sure why Aikman was off base for saying that... It doesn't matter WHY they're down by 17 points.

Ugh... I'm supposed to be studying...

Yeah, that one actually wasn't too bad. I just don't like that on, say a screen that is well covered, the QB can just throw it at the ground.

I can see either of these teams having trouble on the road in Philly next week. Cold and windy.

I hate the rules re: intentional grounding. Having a player "in the area" shouldn't constitute an actual attempt to complete the pass.

But the interception was the exception to the norm. You're just proving my point that it would be smart for the Saints to hurry up when they're down by 17.

Before the playoffs, I wanted to see the Saints the very least. Now I'm rooting for them. Weird.

If Keenum hadn't thrown that absurd pick, it could be 20-7 ish and the Saints would've definitely needed to pick up the pace...

    Thomas Davis Suspended Two Games

In case you haven't seen this... There is NO WAY that this deserves a two game suspension. TD has been fined once this season for an illegal hit so I get the "repeat offender" penalty. It's just absurd that Gronk got one game for his hit and this got two games. Total BS in my book. The NFL put themselves in a horrible situation by giving Gronk one game because now when they want to get more strict on illegal football hits, they end up looking like a bunch of morons.

    Green Bay Eliminated

We won't be facing anyone in round 1 You on the other hand... Well, you have the "real" best back in the league.

    Fumbling in the Endzone

I've heard this argument before. Lots of people have said that the rules should be the same everywhere on the field. I just don't see why that's something that should happen... The idea that all of the parts of the field are the same is just not true. They HAVE to be treated differently because they ARE different. That's why statistics of red zone vs. non-red zone performance are kept separately. If a team can have a high snap sail through the end zone for a safety (essentially, a fumble), why wouldn't it be consistent for the offense driving toward the end zone?

    Week 15: Falcons @ Buccaneers

I don't get why you think Rodgers would sit if they were eliminated from the playoffs... Was there a report of that? Medically, it makes no sense to let him play and then sit him. If there was a chance that he'd be reinjured, they never would've played him.

    Week 15: Falcons @ Buccaneers

Dallas might sneak in if we rest our starters. ATL has to play NO and CAR still, Dallas can beat SEA and hold the tie breaker and the Lions have to play Green Bay in two weeks...

    Week 13: Steelers @ Bengals

That's pretty awful. Obviously, there's a chance that it's just a nerve compression and he'll be fine but the fact that it looked like bilateral loss of movement scares the hell outta me. That could be spinal cord damage. Sick to my stomach...
  18. On another note: Do you all really believe that benching Eli was McAdoo's decision??? I don't. I'm willing to bet that call came straight from Mara and then Mara made McAdoo the scapegoat for the decision. Why in the world would McAdoo bench Eli? McAdoo was trying to look as GOOD AS POSSIBLE because he KNEW he was gonna get fired. You think McAdoo really thought Geno MFing Smith was the way to make him look good?? No chance.
  19. If they're smart, they'll cut ties with Eli. He's an icon who's been deteriorating for years and they feel tied to him. We'll see if they have the cajones to move on. It's a tough business...

Gmen hire McAdoo as head coach

When you hang onto a relic (Eli Manning) for too long, you wreck your future. He shoulda been cut 3-4 years ago but those SB wins earned him a "special place in Giants' fans hearts" and so they couldn't get rid of him. Kobe Bryant syndrome.
